OPEN TODAY (10/24) 11am - 5pm 𝑺𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝑫𝒐𝒐𝒎 𝑬𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑮𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒎 Each of the three artists, Gambino, Lowenthal, and Manhattan, pulls from a lexicon of existing objects and materials to create works that exist at the nexus of converging visual and personal moments. The pervasive diaristic revelations, sometimes on full display and at other times disguised by formal consideration, reveal the fraught psychology of creating. Different stratospheres of anachronism are mined with subversive subjectivity, from early aughts internet culture and miniatures to antique furniture and studio ephemera. Interventions and mediations alter the fabric of each object. Coy, blatant, or minute adjustments reframe the context of each repurposed object, generating a new whole that seeks to put order to the forgotten, discarded, or unconsidered. -Philip Hinge ………………………………………………………………………………. 11.09. - 17.10.2026 „Who has never heard someone say: my whole life is in my phone?  This has already caused a major blurring between the private and public spheres, between the home and the office. The clear separation between work and rest disappears when a person can be reached by a boss at anytime, anywhere, unless specific rules are determined. Humans conduct business from their dinner table. They close deals from airplane seats. They solve work problems during a romantic date. Every second of our waking time becomes an opportunity for work.“

Installationshots of the groupexhibition NICHE a collaboration of vetsak x JVDW bringing together selected works by 10 international artists. The show is on view until Saturday June, 20th 🛋️ Fig Salad, Purple and Winking In Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar, the author describes the logic of decision-making by way of a fig tree. Imagining herself sat at its centre, each branch extends outward as a different possible life, each bearing a fig, and with it, a slightly different version of the future. As the branches stretch, they grow further out of reach of the others, creating a structure in which possibility and fore closure are bound together. The logic of the niche is similar, suggesting both contingency and constraint – artistic practices honed to singularity. Within NICHE, collated by JVDW and hosted at vetsak, these branch-like trajectories fold back into relation. The exhibition brings together ten markedly disparate practices meaningfully in the context of vetsak’s flagship location, where the brand’s approach to space and modularity creates an architectural ecosystem in which texture, form, play, and rest intermingle. Here, it is as if the branches of Plath’s fig tree have bent inward – with different niches plaited and spread across two floors of a Gründerzeit Villa in Düsseldorf-Unterbilk with complex, playful topiary. Kevin Lowenthal is part of the groupexhibition NICHE at vetsak Düsseldorf in collaboration with JVDW🧤 The show is on view until June 20th, 2026 A related tension structures the paintings of Kevin Lowenthal, where the insistent use of the vertical is disrupted by horizontal flickers of paint. In his works, there is the sense of something architectural or chemical: corrugated iron fences, curtains, columns, balustrades, photographs developing, sonic hertz. Using a palette that ranges from CMYK tones to muted beige, his use of curtain-like motifs lend a sense of suspension.
