The journey is always worth it 👘

This is my third round of going to Japan to pickup some old/used haori and kimono for my upcycled hat project. This time around, I was trying to find mostly black fabrics with tonal patterns on them which made it quite difficult but they’re so dope.

Each fabric carries a different story, along with the journey and effort it takes to source the fabric to get made. Each hat then is hand assembled by a small team out in Guadalajara, MX thanks to @lowerpark

Maybe the next batch will by 100% made in Japan, but trying to establish those relationships overseas can be difficult. I’m working on it though ✨

Rain or shine, we make it happen cause the journey is always worth it
