After a pretty challenging close to 2022, some friends of mine assured me things would look up in 2023.

"It'll be your year! Twenty twenty Gui!"

I'm working on granting myself more optimism, but damn... I couldn't have predicted what a positive, pivotal year this would be. Here's a few snippets:

1) & 2) A glorious afternoon in Madrid. There was a lot of this, with many more people, during the first quarter of the year

3) The world premiere of @lasombradelsol_venezuela , at @laliff_ . @elmiguelferrer , thank you for making me part of your audacious dream, and for introducing me to this extraordinary group of individuals.

4) Me and Don @alvarcarretero during the TIFF premiere party for The Boy and the Heron. I'm lucky to have a friend in someone as driven, knowledgeable and passionate as Alvar, and to have joined him with @joshuajasonpr and @marianamdza for the festival screening of Kore-eda's masterpiece, Monster.

5) There's not a day where Dean doesn't come to mind. I'm so fortunate for sharing 7 years with him.

6) @alejandrogrossmann entrusted me the direction of 2 eps of his upcoming mini series, Low Expectations. Can't wait to see this one come to fruition, and to work many times more with Alejandro.

7) With Vera and her dad Roro, cooking up very exciting stuff for the summer 💀🇻🇪

8) Mis amigos de Canadá. It's the best thing 12 years in Toronto has given me.

9) My 2022 resolution was leading a healthier lifestyle. I dropped many pounds (and feel a whole lot better), thanks to almost daily long walks, ofte alongside friends such as @nekomyhero

10) I'm so thrilled that Papal States is finally playing live shows. This was our last gig of 2022. Our first single is on the works!

At the risk of angering the pun police, I say: Feliz año, everyone. Here's to twenty twenty more.
