“Don’t empty your savings to try and compete against the nine-year-olds in the state.” 💸⚾

Sports parents, this one’s for you.

In his final message on Beyond the Game, @tysonross_38 keeps it simple:

✅ Make sure your kid is having fun. That’s the number one priority.
✅ If they’re really talented, let them play up against 10 and 11-year-olds. Let them struggle, just like they should.
✅ Let them play multiple sports.

Tyson didn’t specialize in pitching until his junior year of high school. Hitting in the garage with his dad taught him to rotate. Basketball taught him to put force into the ground. Those two things made him an elite athlete.

“If I had specialized and did all the lessons and trainings, I wouldn’t have been the same athlete. I was naturally developed, and people discount it because it’s free.” 🙌🏾

Fun isn’t a break from development. It IS development. Kids who love the game keep playing, keep growing, and build an identity bigger than one sport.

Thank you, Tyson, for an honest conversation that every sports parent needs to hear. And keep supporting the free clinics at @loyaltomysoil_org, where that “free” development is happening every day. 🌱

5,000+ families served. Zero cost to participate. And we’re just getting started.

This is Loyal To My Soil.

Since 2020, we’ve been on a mission to break down barriers, create opportunities, and build stronger communities through sport.

Free youth camps. Equipment donations. Coaches clinics. Educational workshops. Mental skills training.

We bring the resources, experience, and people together to give the next generation access to opportunities that shouldn’t be hidden behind a paywall.

We’ve come a long way since our first camp. What started as an idea has grown into a movement powered by athletes, coaches, volunteers, partners, and communities who believe in giving back.

And the best part? We’re only scratching the surface.

We’ve got big things in the works, new communities to reach, and exciting opportunities on the horizon.

Same roots. Bigger reach. Greater impact. 🌱

⚾🥎 One of my favorite moments from our free camp at Laney College involved a young girl who was stepping onto a baseball field for the very first time.

When she arrived, she was quiet and reserved, unsure of what to expect. We gave her a glove to use during the camp — and to take home as her own — and little by little she started to come out of her shell. 🧤

I was working with her at the hitting station, and I'll never forget the moment everything clicked. She squared up a ball, watched it jump off the bat, and her face completely lit up. Then she did it again. And again.

What started as hesitation turned into confidence, smiles, and excitement. Watching her experience the joy of barreling up a baseball for the first time was a powerful reminder of why we do this work. 💙

Sometimes all it takes is a glove, an opportunity, and someone believing in you to open the door to something new.

All roads lead to golf. They often start with baseball and softball. ⚾️🥎

After seeing firsthand how @loyaltomysoil_org supports young people through its programming, we reached out with an idea: could they donate some equipment to help us build out our movement and skill development @ileomodeschool

Because before the golf swing, some kids need chances to run, throw, catch, balance, and coordinate. Those skills work together. They help young people grow as movers, scholars, and athletes—all while keeping the joy of play at the center.

Then the phone rings and @tysonross_38 is asking “Where do I park? I’ve got the gear.”

He showed up himself with gloves, baseballs, softballs, and soft training equipment suited to where our kids are developmentally.

Thank you, “Baba” Tyson and Loyal to My Soil, for helping us give our kids more ways to move, learn, and play.

The biggest wins happen BEFORE THE FIELD!

Congratulations to our two top performers from the Before The Field pilot study! 🏆

These athletes separated themselves from the pack by doing something simple but powerful: consistently showing up.

They put in the work between the ears to elevate their performance between the lines. 💪

As a reward for their commitment, both will receive a custom Loyal To My Soil glove!

Huge thank you to @beforethefield for partnering with us to provide young athletes and families with tools to strengthen their mental game.

Talent matters. Consistency separates.

Keep showing up. Keep growing. Stay LOYAL. 👑
