It’s International Day for conservation of mangrove ecosystems!

Mangroves are home to an incredible diversity of life. In an otherwise flat coastal environment, they create vertical habitat where different species thrive at every level.

Among their tangled roots, you’ll find fish and juvenile sharks seeking shelter. Clinging to the roots are crabs and snails, while the branches and canopy provide resting and nesting places for birds, lizards, and iguanas.

Without mangroves, countless species would lose the habitat they depend on both above and below the waves. These forests also serve as vital nurseries, giving young marine animals a safe place to grow before venturing into the open ocean.

Their importance doesn’t stop there. For coastal communities, mangroves act as a natural barrier against hurricanes, storm surge, erosion, and flooding, helping to protect both people and wildlife.

So, they may look unassuming, but mangroves are among the most valuable and important ecosystems on our planet!

Shark Week is in 2 weeks… 🦈😎🎶

Enjoy and share! shark week is a hip hop fun clean freestyle type track that involves methods of watching shark week, sharks, and the ocean as well as boating /fishing. The idea was introduced to me by a friend that does a “Shark Week” at his garage every year near Philadelphia, Pa which involves fundraising, gathering to watch the shark week program and collecting Landsharks bottles to make a giant fin at the end of the week while raising money to ultimately help sharks and wildlife of the Sea. He asked me to do a 30 second rap at the opening ceremony and I wanted to deliver so I started writing ideas and came up with a full song which is now the theme to this shark week at the headquarters of their “landsharks for shark week” (LSFSW) theme/program. I have done many theme type raps (holiday, sports, religious, motivational) and enjoy music and the process of writing and recording but This was most definetly a fun one. Shout out to Vinny Corpora and Dave Ermentrout for having me be a part of this! Fins up! Enjoy this one and share with another FINTASTIC FRIEND.
