Long winded nostalgia post: the first time I saw Maiden was in ‘87 Somewhere on Tour and it was the first time I was allowed to go since I was too young to see the Piece of Mind and Powerslave tours which I’m still angry about. I remember being on the Irvine Meadows lawn and this dirt head was rolling joints and I got high as fuck and it was one of the highlights of my life! Fast forward to last night and I got to somewhat re-live part of that tour (although not high at all) and goddamn they ripped! Hung out in the Maiden parking lot with a sick crew, laughed it up with VH, stood in the middle of the forum where the lakers crushed the Celtics and Pistons and my babe @cocacolachola got to see them for the first time!! ❤️ I finally got the shirt from ‘87 (European tour dates on the back, but whatever)! See you in a couple years @ironmaiden !!!

-4 “The Abyss”, the third Demo from Necrot would be unleashed on September 18th, 2014! The band had spent the end of 2012 til mid-2014 doing exactly what they had planned to do: Form the Lineup, play Shows, and Tour. On November 16th, 2012, Necrot played their first show at Rotture in Portland, Oregon with Bone Sickness, Scolex, and Torture Rack. They played the next day in Olympia, Washington at the Track House to round out the quick trip. The next shows they would play would be alongside Undergang and Scolex during the “Decomposing the West” 2013 West Coast Tour. The tour would begin at KFJC, a long-standing Los Altos College Radio station, where all three bands performed live on air during Phil “Cy Thoth” Herz’ program. Necrot would play their first Bay Area shows on the “Decomposing the West” tour, something they had been working towards since early 2011.

Between February and August, the band would actively play live in Oakland, San Francisco, and other parts of the Bay Area as often as possible with bands like Anhedonist, Cannabis Corpse, and Black Breath. They would also spend a majority of this time writing the last few songs that would bring them to “The Abyss”. Necrot finally returned to Earhammer in September to record those songs once and for all. They would go on to do one more West Coast tour with Lightning Swords of Death and Scolex as well as play more shows locally with Exhumed and Steel Bearing Hand to finish out the rest of the year.

In February of 2014, Necrot was invited to play for the first time internationally in Mexico City as part of D-Fest, alongside Toxic Holocaust, Lecherous Gaze, Trenchgrinder, and Skullshitter. When they returned, they would open for Noothgrush, Extinction of Mankind, and Eyehategod. Following these shows, Luca Indrio returned to Italy in mid-2014 to take time off and recover from a work-related injury he had sustained earlier that year. Although “The Abyss” wouldn’t be released until September, but there was still more in store for Necrot when they would return to the stage in 2015…

After an extended hiatus I’ll be returning this Friday June 9th with a long overdue distro update. The biggest highlight is the punishing new demo from @andorkappen and his nascent project HATER OF MAN. I have also unearthed some way out of print cassette releases from deep within the Rising Beast archives. Hopefully I’ll also have some info about new music soon. My next 12 releases are in the works, all at various stages of completion. Thanks everyone and see you this Friday! ~Horus the Brown
