POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Has anyone else melted down emotionally recently? Or do you feel on the brink of one? I melted down yesterday and a miracle followed it after I shared this video on IG stories of how I was feeling. I got support from so many of you who sent me ideas, articles and tools to self-soothe and feel better. Read about some of my experience below or just head to link in bio for my new blog post with a bunch of tips and resources on how to soothe during or after an emotional spin out. I feel 100% better today and more prepared for future emotional messy-ness. Which is really a call to grace.

Yesterday I was in my office and my face was just hurting from looking at my computer for so long. My butt was hurting because I've been sitting in front of screens for so much longer than I used to before staying at home went into effect. All of a sudden I felt the walls closing in on me. I tried to leave my office but the knob was stuck and I felt trapped. I flung the door open and felt like I wanted to fly into a rage. I crawled into bed and tied a sweatshirt around my head which was oddly soothing. I prayed, I breathed and then I shared a video about how I was feeling. As someone who teaches workshops on GOOD ENERGY, I felt compelled to share that I felt like I had none. I sat in bed for 20 minutes really contemplating why I felt so bad and then started to do something about it: I ate some sugar (which a NYT article linked in my blog post says really does help), watched Curb your Enthusiasm to laugh and took my dog out into the fresh air. Things got better and then the the DM's from my insta story started to trickle in.

The amount of love and responses I got back was outstanding. Some people sent virtual hugs, some of you said "OMG I feel like this too" and some people sent ideas on how they process emotions or feel better. After trying some of these I wrote a blog post with ideas of how you can work through some of the heavy sadness and anxiety that comes with social distancing, too much screen time, people getting sick in general or feeling isolated/not motivated or exhausted. I got over the emotional hump in the last 24 hrs, with the support of all of you. 💜you all💛
