This sport has given me way more than just experiences in competition and growth through weightlifting. I have had more important friendships and personal development experiences than I can count. Pictured are two big influences I’ve had the pleasure of having as parts of my life. Kyle Pierce (pictured in the middle) gave me an amazing opportunity to finish my masters degree, continue my lifting career, and build my coaching skills all at the same time. He has had a huge influence on my coaching style and approach to life, always spreading positivity and adapting to life around you. Kyle is one of the most genuine and kind people I have ever met, and I’m happy to call him a mentor and friend.
Standing next to Kyle is Aaron Adams, who I also met while in Shreveport, Louisiana. I helped coach Aaron for a small period of time, but more importantly gained a friend that I have had some very intellectual conversations with, but also some hilarious ones where we would laugh until we couldn’t breathe. Even when we would challenge each other’s ideas and thoughts, we both would grow from the conversation and laugh at the end.
Thank you weightlifting for giving me these connections, friendships, and life experiences!
I hope that all weightlifters use this sport as an opportunity to make connections with people and grow as people.
Stay Strong Champions!!!
