Noticed a ticking noise from my engine last week, feared it was the dreaded collapsed lifter tick these GM engines get, to repair it, it would be at least $4000 the engine has to basically be taken apart, I picked at the brains of 2 friends who know these engines well and got some advice, I took the valve cover off to inspect and pinpoint which cylinder it is and noticed a rocker arm had play in it left to right,, not up and down like a collapsed lifter would do,, went to the dealer got a new rocker arm, then pulled the pushrod and it was bent to, got a push rod from the dealer, put the parts in, put it back together and for $40 and some hours of my time, its fixed!!!!! Thank god I really didnt want to have to spend 4k on repairing the engine. Always get a 2nd and 3rd opinion. And pray for the best, sometimes we get what we pray for
