The August edition of the Third Wednesday Poetry Series at @infiniterepeatsworldwide is in the books! Thanks to @ltay.art for a fabulous featured reading, and thanks to all our open mic readers, too! Next month's reading is on September 16 and the featured reader will be ... me. It's the one-year birthday of this series and there will be some giveaways and other fun stuff. (The final photo is a gift I received tonight from a friend. A rootin' tootin' version of my namesake.) FYI I'm not back on IG. Using this only for poetry until things change.

WHAT. A. NIGHT. Record attendance. Record number of readers. Tons of first-time readers, including one person who had never spoken in public ever and was awesome. Johanna Hall *crushed* her feature slot. Tonight filled my little heart right to the top. I love y'all. Come back to RAQC on May 20 for featured poet Wendy Repass and an open mic. #PoorSadSimiansUnite #charlottesville #cville #poetry

Let’s not mince our words…2025 was an incredible year for the Rivanna River Company!! So much to be grateful for, especially all the dedicated humans that work here and put their hearts into this place… and all the folks that visit, paddle, sweat, dance, play music, dig in sand boxes, do river yoga, and give us a purpose for being here…big BIG hugs to you all 🤗

And of course…this unbelievable river that is the centerpiece and inspiration for it all! How lucky are we?

Thank you to the (more than) 50 contributors last night for my Disco Gal community sculpture project for @clementstreetartwalk . It was so fun meeting everyone, getting a chance to do something interactive, and seeing all the kids come out to appreciate art.

While I participate in Artwalk every month, this was only the second time I hosted an interactive art activity for the community, and it was a fantastic reminder that while selling and showing art is great (mostly just to afford more art supplies), sharing art and activities is way more enriching and fun. I’ve decided to start alternating months to be interactive, so if you want to stay in the loop for what’s on, follow me here or sign up for my Friday newsletter (which also usually includes a rad poem and some local art info). Sign up is in my bio.

Instagram would only let me tag 20 people unfortunately, but I did the best I could to include everyone, and I’ll try to throw some in the comments if I can!
Thanks everyone for coming out ✨ and special shout out to @thegoldenhoursf for gifting me the mannequin!
