Psalms 107:1
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever.

If I had the chance to do it again, I wouldn't hesitate one bit. From the people that I got to meet to the ones that are basically family, I will always be grateful.

First off, I want to thank the Lord for letting me use running as a platform to glorify Him. He's helped me grow in so many ways I never thought of. While the journey had its many ups and downs over the years, He has given me plenty of opportunities to glorify Him and be thankful.

I want to thank my family and friends for always supporting me over the years and encouraging me to keep going when times got tough. Y'all have always shown me the good that can come out of situations.

Lastly, I want to thank the coaches who've helped me get here today. Coach Patrick, Coach King, and Coach Jackson, thank yall for coaching me up from middle to high school over the years. Coach Rennix, thank you for taking a chance and giving me the opportunity to have a collegiate running career. Who knows where I would have went if you hadn't reached out. Coach Roger and Coach Grace, thank yall both for continuing to believe in me over the last year. While it was a short time with yall, it has meant so much to me.

I dont like the saying goodbye. So... until next time.

TLDR: I can’t believe it’s done, 8 years. Thanks for the memories, friends, coaches, and family who supported this journey!

To start this off, I was just a kid who didn’t have anything going on in my life. My mom @cynthia9cw told me to join XC or Band in high school. I chose XC. I started off with a 28:07 5k PR. I grinded to get down 10 minutes training with all sorts of people like @dont_hug_im_scared and @stephenholl18. They pushed me to get better everyday.

Then as I got better I made more friends along the way. I grew as an athlete, my dad @wrightjamie31 supported me and kept me humble the whole journey. I made friends; I triumphed and trusted the process. I made many friends along the way like @jackson_skull._, @_nicklavelle_ and many countless others. They helped push me and grow as a person and an athlete.

Coming to @conversedistancexc and @valkyriesxctrack I had to trust the process. I had a lot of improving to do as a person. I made many great friends, both who became my brothers and sisters. They gave me a reason to be better everyday. Coaches like @rogermalonda @grace.dwyer, @matt_hammersmith, @ziggy_da_gr8, and @mrennix_15 who taught me humility, disciple and patience. They also taught me loyalty, seeing how much we progressed makes me so happy. I made many friends, I learned great lessons. I went from the freshman who had a lot to learn. Now I’m called Unc haha.

It’s crazy how time flies by fast, I was once the runner who ran 28 minute 5ks, to running for an amazing program. I couldn’t have have done it without god, my friends, my teammates, and my family.

Yeah I’m going to still run; but it won’t be the same training with my brothers and sisters I’ve grown attached to on this team, it’s just a surreal experience of camaraderie and real friendship I’ll yearn to repeat again.

So for the new generation, enjoy it while it lasts, you only get to be a kid for so long.

Much love to everyone who supported me and befriended me along the way. I appreciate all the coaches who gave me a chance, and develop as not only an athlete but as a person. It’s been real.

6,000+ miles later my knees don’t yet. But I would like to give thanks to all the ones who has kept up with my athletic journey so far has came to an end. Especially the ones that I’ve ran beside it has been a pleasure truly. The laughs and conversations on the road will always be cherished. For the teammates who watched me thrive and picked me up multiple times through my worst performances during my races, runs, and workouts. That’s what brought me to the sport. We have built something truly special men. There’s more that could be said but it will wait CU May 17! This Chapter is closed thank you @valkyriesxctrack 💜💛
