The Nike SB x Ascend Solar New Year Skate Event has officially concluded. Last year, I pitched this event for the Nike campus to celebrate the launch of the Songkran Collection, and the building process started in January with the Nike SB + Ascend Network community. Behind every detail was a hand. Over 100 hands have touched this event and every hand has meant something.

To the Solar New Year Crew, I am genuinely so blessed to have had this experience with you. As we met every Friday to build this event since January - to me, it was more than you cutting foam board, painting the backdrops, building a lifesize sticky rice basket. To me, I had finally met the people I was fighting for in meetings and pitches for the last couple years.

This was always more than an event to me; it was about giving you a sense of home here at Nike through this experience. It was about you making a new friend, building relationships, sharing laughs and joy, and learning new passions. Last week, we made an event that had so much heart and love which could be felt by every attendee. I’ve never seen so many diverse individuals work together to support something so meaningful to the SEA community.

Thank you to every team: Entertainment, Table Activities, Skate Installation, Promo, Photo Op + Decor, Nike Company Store, Events Team, AV, Stage. Thank you to @djnickypdx, @sincerity.girlss, @spiritofsage_ , and @lauras_curative_kitchen. Thank you to the Nike SB team and Ascend Network.

And lastly, thank you to the crew for trusting my leadership and for letting me practice what kind of leader I want to become in the future. I appreciate every single one of you and have cried way too many times in the last couple weeks 😂.
