Here is 5 things I did to improve my muscle up (still not perfect)👇🏽
1. Strict pull ups - Making sure my form on strict pull ups was solid with a tight core and a slightly closer grip helps stay more solid when doing the movement for muscle up
2. Weighted pull ups - At first I tried doing these for reps in the 7-10 rep range but now I’ve turned to doing a higher weight and getting maybe 3-4 explosive reps. After doing 2-3 sets of these you will just fly up without weight.
3. Grow your hair out(optional) - I think it’s in my head but rolling with it, but I’m pretty sure I’ve got stronger since I grew my hair.
4. Dips/weighted dips - Another exercise I try to do with heavy and explosive low rep sets. I don’t know why exactly it helped me but it did.
5. Stop treating it as a pull motion - For me this was the biggest mindset switch. Once I started pushing the bar down to my chest instead of pulling up to it is when it became more consistent and fluid for me. I treat the movement almost similar to an explosive lat pullover. #fitness #workout #gym #training #calisthenics
