Valencia Marathon Block: Week 5/20

Just one more big week and then I’ll take a down week coach I swear🤥. Mara block fatigue is starting to settle in scarily early with a long way to go. Lot of miles getting chopped but good excuse to keep fuelled & smash unreal scran round the city with zero guilt.

Finally lost @fabriclondonofficial virginity at my big age. Complain a lot about the state of London nightclubs but fabric is silly good, serious willpower to not stay till 7am closing.

Some quicker 5k-10k pace sessions this week to get the legs spinning with a couple races over shorter distances on the horizon. 5 weeks down, 15 to go, keep the ball rolling.

Tonight we said goodbye to one of our wonderful players, Lucy!

The @officialkendaltownfc men’s first team manager also came down to training to present her with the Goal of the Season award, which was voted on by the public. She netted 28 goals this season, and 13 assists.

Thank you for all you have done for the club over the last season; you will be missed by everyone, although we think she’ll miss @kits.kitchenltd more than anything else 🖤🤍

Extremely cool to see @twoside_ath , local Hackney lad (genuine born & bred), design a class vest for Hackney Half with a map and details of the hometown itself.

One of the greater pleasures in life is watching pals pursue their passions. Especially when life tends to get in the way and we inevitably end up losing touch with what we love. Makes it all the cooler to see @twoside_ath & co crushing it.

First week of the new block done, out of sorts but good to be back after a degenerate stint post London mara - time to get into the flow of training again with four weeks till the next outing at @thelondon5000 shooting for a low 14 min 5k.

Smile or you’ll cry! That one really bloody hurt. From the first step I thought ‘how the hell am I holding onto this pace’. I just went with it and held on for dear life. Turns out that legs forged in the fires of zone 2 training can still put in a shift when required!

Thanks @sapgoodenergy for the fuel and fashion! Until next time :)

The highs from the Hackney 9km weekend 🤝

Good people, good vibes, and a reminder of why I love this sport.

Now it’s time for the less glamorous part… waiting to see what’s going on with the ol’ calf and hoping it’s nothing too dramatic.

We had a brilliant weekend hosting the MINT Chinese Film Festival, bringing a fabulous programme of contemporary Chinese and Asian cinema to Kendal ⭐

MINT is the UK’s first women-led Chinese film festival and champions cross-cultural storytelling and women’s voices in film. It was a joy to share these stories with audiences here and see so many people enjoying the screenings

Thank you to the MINT team and everyone who came along to be part of it 💚
