if I had to say one thing I've learnt since becoming disabled & chronically ill, it would be that the little things are just as valuable as the big things. whether it's getting out of the house to do a food shop with friends, having a day out with my family, or looking after my animals, it all makes it worth it. but to learn this, i went through a stage of thinking my life was over. I couldn't have big days out anymore, and working towards my dream career seemed impossible with my illnesses. so I avoided doing anything at all, and I felt like I was watching my life get away from me. but I am grateful for the people (and animals) in my life who have never stopped encouraging and supporting me. they believed in me when I couldn't. and now look at me, I'm at university in a new city, living away from home, and i feel like I have a new outlook on life and my future with these illnesses. #chronicillness #disability #sylviaplath #universitystudent #fyp
