Still coming down from the sugar high on this one. It’s been the biggest honour to play such an iconic and beloved character, and I hope I did him justice. One of my favourite things I’ve ever done, and I’ll miss doing it with this bunch of people. @xander._ I couldn’t have asked for a better sparring partner.

Oh and we broke records! The highest grossing single week of a musical at the Barbican, and we broke the record for the highest grossing single performance of a musical five consecutive times!

To have done all this with a cast of brilliant and beautiful actors of East and South East Asian heritage means a lot…proud of us!

Picture yourself at about 8 years old, your cousins shuffling over to the sides so you get a better view as you are all crammed in front of a tiny computer monitor. The room is dark and quiet except for the flickering light of a montage opening scene and the head banging sounds of J-Pop.

Fast forward 22 years later, picture your cast mates shuffling over to the sides so you get a better spot for your curtain call of the same anime. The very same anime that got you into Law, the very same anime that would soon become a record breaking musical showcasing people that look like you.

Death Note the Musical at the Barbican has been one of the hardest, and most delectable jobs I've ever had the privilege of getting my grubby Sarawakian hands on. Being gifted the honour of covering my Asian Icons @tellyleung and @colin_ryan in one sitting was not on my 2026 bingo cards, but what a freaking honour it has been. @frank.wildhorn @ivanmenchell @jasonhowlandmusic @katyrrichardson @giles_deacon @iammorganreilly @tilbo22 @stephen.whitson @beccachadder

Where do I even begin… bringing this musical to life on the Barbican stage has been a dream come true, my stars really aligned for this one. Everyone is so uniquely talented from the cast members to the crew members, never have I beamed with this much pride during our last bows.

Thanks to this hot bunch, I got to laugh and cackle on a daily basis and also witness all your ugly cries (y’all ugly af 😛) Damn, we ate well on this one 💖

It honestly feels like a miracle being able to say that I was part of this show. For a first big job, I am pretty certain this is as good as it gets. Rehearsing for this was intense, but it was also incredibly inspiring and so much fun. I woke up feeling excited every single day and that’s not something I take for granted. As someone who hasn’t spent much time dancing, I had best time trying to pretend like I knew what was going on and trying to level up my moves to match my insanely talented cast mates. Growing up in Asia, I never thought something like this was a possibility and I never thought this was in the cards for me. And it’s funny because looking back, I can’t imagine a life where I’m not singing, dancing, acting and making music. It seems that dreams can actually be more than just that.

To me, this cast will always hold a special place in my heart. To be part of an Asian cast has meant the world to me and to say that it’s been healing would be an understatement. This group of people are ridiculously talented and super hardworking, I can vividly remember a number of times feeling so hyped watching them in rehearsals. Getting to perform onstage with this cast every day has been a great honour and I’ll never forget how alive I felt every night. Especially when the swings come on and surprise you. On top of that, this cast is full of kind and caring people who choose to live their life with love at the forefront of everyday. The genuine care, curiosity and love within this group is not something you come across often. I’ve also lost count of how many times I’ve laughed until my tummy hurts. And, I’ve probably had enough Bahn Mi for a lifetime now but if anyone asked me to go tomorrow, I’d be right there.

To the creative team @stephen.whitson @frank.wildhorn @jasonhowlandmusic @fabianaloise @honey_joseph @ivanmenchell and more, thank you for pushing me to try and be better everyday! I’ve felt inspired in your presence and have loved working with you!
To the gals working side stage, backstage and seemingly everywhere all at the same time, you are legends and I love you. To the entire company of this show, I love you!

What a special show , beyond grateful that words cannot describe the pride and joy I’ve had to have been part of such a powerhouse of a cast, one can only describe as an imaculate and talented ALL Asian cast , i never thought I’d have the privilege and opportunity to be part of an all Asian cast and for that I feel truely honored and lucky . I simply cannot put into words how grateful I am to have performed this show every single night surrounded by the most amazing and supportive cast who lit up the stage every single show .The memories that I’ll hold so dear to my heart and cherish every single moment from this show ! To each and every single person I adore and love you
