Opening Night of our 2026-2027 Season at the Victory Theatre was an incredible success!

Under the direction ofRoger Kalia, the Orchestra brought an exciting program to life, including Inspiration – Festive Overture for Orchestra by composer Quinn Mason, who was in the audience to hear his work performed live. What a special moment!

We were also thrilled to welcome the extraordinary husband-and-wife duo Eric Byers and Lucia Micarelli. Their artistry and musical connection made for an unforgettable evening – with three amazing encore selections that brought the audience to their feet!

Thank you to all who joined us for this spectacular start to the season and a special thank you to our Guest Artist Sponsor, Martha & Merritt deJong Foundation and Music Sponsor, Donald C. Summers.

A few favorite moments from this memorable Opening Night.

I’m thrilled to share what’s ahead for the 2026–27 season!

This year marks my seventh season as Music Director of the @evvphil, my second season with the @terrehautesymphony (celebrating its historic centennial season as Indiana’s oldest professional orchestra), and my ninth season as Music Director of @orchestrasantamonica.

I’m also looking forward to two exciting guest conducting debuts: with the @daytonphilharmonic, where I’ll bring @symphonymasala—our orchestral celebration of nearly 70 years of Bollywood music—and with the @paducahsymphony. In June, I’ll return to the @lgmusicfestival and the @redlandsbowl.

One of the greatest joys of this season will be collaborating with an extraordinary group of artists—both longtime friends and new colleagues—including @mystabyers and @luciamicarelli, @arturo_sandoval_arocha, @eunipalooooza, @ryanjroberts, @vijay_venkatesh_piano, Vieness Piano Duo, @stefanjackiwviolin, Dan Domenech, Rachel Potter, and Solly Burton, and @angelac.reynolds, among many others.

The music itself spans an incredible range: Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Berlioz, @quinnmasoncomposer, @annaclynecomposer, and so much more, alongside the music of Earth, Wind & Fire, Buster Keaton’s silent-film classic The General, and John Williams’ Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back performed live to film.

I’m especially excited to conduct the World Premiere of a new work by my dear friend @jasongomezcomposer and to celebrate another milestone with the official release of Orchestra Santa Monica’s first-ever recording, Jason’s Potentia, featuring @sangisaiah. We recorded the work at the legendary Barbra Streisand Scoring Stage at Sony Pictures with scoring mixer @alanmeyersonmusic —an unforgettable experience for all of us.

From symphonic masterworks and world premieres to Bollywood, jazz, film, pop, and collaborations with remarkable artists, I’m incredibly grateful for the variety of music and communities that will make up this season.

Here’s to an exciting 2026–27!

This year I’ve been all over the world, hitting places I’ve never been and places I’ve long missed. I’ve grown a lot, learned a lot, and leaned into the idea that if I feel passionately about something, others might too. Every trek I’ve made has had a unique sonic stamp. It’s what made this year in particular so rewarding. This month, singing some of the most classic songs, reimagined in some of the greatest venues with full symphonies for 10’s of thousands of you has been a dream. In October, we’ll see you back again at the awesome @caesarspalace @colosseumatcp for another sonic adventure. Then after that, going off to record more surprises, grow more, and take you on more adventures you’re hopefully as excited to join me on for as I am to make them. Last 3 Stage, Screen, and Symphony shows in Grand Rapids Kansas City & Houston coming up. See you all out there ❤️🎶
