NEW FESTIVAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

On Saturday 13 March, 2027, a fresh curation of heavy metal and hardcore punk extremity will be inaugurated in Melbourne, Australia with Lucidity.

Lucidity 2027 Featuring Converge, Oathbreaker, Extortion, Portrayal Of Guilt, The Broderick, Wiegedood, Ends In Tragedy, Blind Girls, Isua & Melting

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of their iconic Jane Doe record, legendary metalcore pioneers CONVERGE will crown their first visit to Australia since 2019 with a rare and exclusive performance of the paradigm-shattering, generationally defining 2001 album which retains a cult-like following to this day. The band has only performed the record twice in it’s entirety at Roadburn in 2016 and Decibel Metal & Beer Fest in 2021. Jane Doe’s opening track Concubine placed at no.78 on Rolling Stone’s list of ‘The 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Songs of All Time’ and cemented CONVERGE’s place as innovative titans of heavy music.

Belgium’s OATHBREAKER will mark their first trip to the southern hemisphere with a festival exclusive set celebrating 10 years of their widely adored 2016 album Rheia

Australian powerviolence unit EXTORTION and Texan metal punks PORTRAYAL OF GUILT both join the lineup.
The OATHBREAKER-adjacent, misanthropic black metal trio that is WIEGEDOOD will return to Australia for the first time since Direct Underground Festival in 2018 as a festival exclusive.
ENDS IN TRAGEDY, BLIND GIRLS, ISUA and MELTING will represent a diverse array of some of the finest domestic metal and hardcore sounds going to well and truly set the stage.
And finally, Melbourne’s THE BRODERICK will pick up the pieces to celebrate 15 years of their now cult-classic debut record “Free To Rot, Free of Sin“.

Since I stopped playing and touring in hardcore bands, I’ve always had this little thought in the back of my mind that wondered how I could involve my art practice into a setting that was connected to that, this festival is not only the perfect setting, but to do it with a headliner like @converge who’s visual identity has always been so inspiring, creative and powerful (driven by @jbannon ), I’m super excited to create an installation for guests to experience. What a lineup. So stoked for the opportunity @lucidityfest.au
