Motherhood is a funny business. One day your ready leave and drive to Vegas for alone time and the next your crying because they’re leaving you for a friend again. I’ve had postpartum depression, my body has never been the same, I’ve had many sleepless nights, missed meals, rages for anger, middle of the night nursing, mid day cry’s, ghosted texts and told they hate me or I’m ruining their lives. But with all the ups and downs it’s what I would always choose in every lifetime. It’s hard, really hard but oh boy, nothing compares to it. #motherhood #kids #growingup #sahm #momlife

One of my biggest hopes as a mom was that someday my kids would look back on home and remember how it felt. 🤎

And honestly, some of the years when money was the tightest were when I got the most creative. I almost looked at it like a challenge—how can I make our home feel cozy and special without spending much?

For some reason I always thought about the five senses. What did home smell like? What music was playing? What did we eat? What did it look and feel like when they walked in the door?

It was never about having a perfect house or spending a lot of money. It was the seasons, traditions, familiar smells, favorite foods, music, blankets, little projects and ordinary days together.

I just wanted HOME to be a feeling they’d never forget. 🍂

What made home feel like home when you were growing up? 🤎 Tag your mom and tell her she did good 😊 #motherhood #cozy #october #homemaker #home

The ending…. Haha! You get ONE city in Japan—which one are you choosing? 🇯🇵👇🏼 Ready? GO….

Apparently the only reasonable way to document our trip across Japan was to run 🏃🏽‍♀️ through every city 😂

Tokyo → Kyoto → Osaka → Hiroshima → Miyajima → Fukuoka → Tokyo ❤️

We walked a ridiculous number of steps, ate EVERYTHING, shopped way too much, figured out the trains (eventually 😂), and made some of my favorite family memories ever.

✈️ Tag the travel buddy you’d want running through Japan with you!

I still have SO much Japan content—what do you want next: food, shopping, our haul, what I’d do differently, or my Japan must-dos? 👇🏼Link in bio for all the travel OOTDs and for my travel must haves ❤️🇯🇵

I don’t know when we decided that hobbies had to be productive…

We made mermaid 🧜🏼‍♀️✨ brushes today. Sometimes it’s enough to sit around the kitchen table with your 👯‍♀️ daughters, glue 🐚 seashells to a a wood hairbrush, laugh at the mess, and make something beautiful.

These are the afternoons I hope my girls remember one day.

✨ Sometimes the simplest moments become the sweetest memories.
