Today some of us gathered in @cafeizz for a bite to eat and a catch up, it ended up being so much more... In the midst of all that’s happening we managed to lift each other up and have a laugh. Seeing others who are struggling find a bit of joy resonates so much. It’s value is not to be underestimated, we’re not cut out to witness what we’ve been witnessing on our screens this past few years, it takes its toll… That paired with a sense of helplessness to influence a change can wear folks thin…

On speaking with a beautiful soul from Gaza today our worries pale in comparison, we can’t begin to imagine the worry, anxiety and constant stress of having family in Gaza and wondering if they’ll survive. And feeling guilty for surviving elsewhere. How cruel is this world?

Being in good company is literally tonic for the soul, one we could do with a good dose of regularly. It helps us help each other, to connect, and know that there are so many decent kind people out there.

We really are blessed to have such a special place locally, twas a fortunate day for the people of Cork that Izz & Eman decided to establish their beautiful restaurant in the heart of our city 🫶🏻

Got a mad notion then to go on a trip down memory lane & throw a heap of photos & videos of various gatherings in Izz over the years. Inshallah we’ll have more happy memories on the journey ahead, here’s hoping we’ll get to celebrate a free Palestine in the not too distant future 🤞

For anyone visiting Cork, visiting Izz Cafe is a must! 😋

What an incredible 24 hours.
Cup is filled.

From Cashel to Nenagh and on to Clare, despite the circumstances of the genocide in Palestine that have brought us together , that are heartbreaking beyond words on the 1,000 day as we stood in solidarity.

I have met people who represent the very best of humanity—people whose compassion, courage, and unwavering commitment to justice and peace have restored my faith that goodness will prevail.

It was such an honour to meet Medea Benjamin and her partner Tighe while they were touring Ireland. Their lifelong dedication to peace and justice is an inspiration to us all, and I feel privileged that our paths crossed.
On the other side of the camera, and missing from photos @smileykiely and @mamol4

My O.H , for 30 years, as always has my front, back , side💓

May we all continue to stand together, to speak out, and to never lose hope.

🇮🇪 SHOCKING. UNACCEPTABLE. ILLEGAL. 🇮🇪
This isn’t just another photo — this is evidence that Irish neutrality is being ripped apart while the world watches. Shannon Airport — OUR airport — is being used as a transit point for US military flights tied to wars, weapons, and war crimes instead of being a bastion of peace.

Shannonwatch
For decades, Shannonwatch has monitored these flights — almost daily landings of US military or contracted planes, carrying troops and possibly weapons, going to and from conflict zones in the Middle East. Our government claims neutrality — yet these planes land and take off through Irish airspace with ZERO transparency, ZERO inspections, and ZERO accountability.

📣 This is not neutrality — this is complicity.
📣 This is not peace — this is participation in war.
📣 This is a betrayal of Irish values and international law.
Stand with Shannonwatch — demand an end to military use of Shannon Airport, demand Ireland truly live up to its promise of neutrality. 🇮🇪✊

40,000 litres to begin our water provision on behalf of @kites_not_flights.

This was a beautiful event in Doonbeg last July, I was delighted to join the community who flew kites, sang songs and came together in Solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters.

My most sincere apologies for how long it has taken to do this, it was a difficult month that followed this event, and I am still trying to catch up on work from that period.

Thank you so much for your understanding and for the incredible support that you have shown for our work.

I met some wonderful people that day, I still remember how inspired I was after spending a few hours with @carol.mcnamara.796

Our brother @mahmoudfouad352 has been such a support in my efforts to catch up on some of the deliveries from that period, his understanding during that time was also such a relief to me. I couldn't ask for a better brother & friend 🫂

Shannon 12/10/2025
We gathered for a powerful conversation on Ireland’s neutrality and the triple lock.
We began with beautiful songs that set the tone for reflection and solidarity.
The discussion that followed explored the triple lock and the importance of protecting our long-standing policy of neutrality.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined, sang, and spoke for peace.

@sarahmaintains has a great way of sharing her experience via storytelling. Massive respect to Sarah & all the @globalsumudflotilla crew for sacrificing their time & energy for such a worthy cause, and great to see the next flotilla has departed for Gaza already. Big shout out to @clare_ipsc for this recording, no doubt the Banner crew are super proud of Sarah tonight ❤️

As each of the crew have stated, they’re not the story. The story is the Gaza Genocide which has been going on now for two years. It’s an abomination to think that in 2025 this is allowed to happen.

We need to seriously increase the pressure on @michealmartintd & @simonharristd to do as the majority of sound thinking people of this country ask them:

1. Sanction Israel
2. Enact the OTB (goods & services)
3. Stop military use of Shannon & Israeli bound munitions & personnel flying through Shannon Airport & Irish airspace.
4. Divest all Irish sovereign funds from Israeli bonds & Israeli-linked companies

Kilkee this evening ❤️🇵🇸

In partnership with Palestinian filmmakers Mohammad Farhan Al-Karmi and his nephew Mohammad AboHasheem, Kilkee Playwright Festival will host a screening of Bitter Birth with live discussions that illuminate life under occupation.

The event running as part of The Kilkee Playwright Festival between 4pm to 5.30 pm is a fundraiser for AboHasheem’s new project Lifeless Souls, a silent film giving voice to children enduring the trauma of genocide.

Bitter Birth (50 mins) depicts repeated Israeli raids on Palestinian homes. At its heart is the story of a woman who, after 15 years of waiting, finally conceives, only to miscarry due to military violence. Another family loses one son to martyrdom, while the other is arrested.

The film also highlights solidarity across faiths: a Christian woman shelters a Palestinian fighter, refusing to betray him even at the cost of her life.

Director Mohammad Al-Karmi, celebrated for blending documentary realism with narrative storytelling, has won international acclaim for films that confront the daily struggles of Palestinians while revealing their resilience.

Audiences in Kilkee will also meet the executive director of the film, Mohammad AboHasheem, who will join live via Zoom for a Q&A after the screening. At 5pm Mohammad will lead a talk on the development of Palestinian theatre under occupation and introduce Lifeless Souls, his current silent film project.

Jenny Bassett, Director of Kilkee Playwright Festival, had been working with Vegan Feile and Su Powell to get a visa for Mohammad AboHasheem to travel to Ireland to facilitate workshops in Kilkee, Ennis and Galway. Unfortunately despite jumping through numerous hoops Mohammad’s application was declined. It was then decided to run a condensed programme through Zoom. It is planned to have a pre-recorded talk should there be any technical issues with connecting with Mohammad.

“I am honoured to share these stories in Kilkee,” says Mohammad AboHasheem. “As Palestinians, we create film and theatre not only out of pain, but also out of courage and the will to endure. Art allows us to connect across borders and see each other’s humanity.”

❗ URGENT ❗
I'm tired of talking about the suffering and that we want to leave, we don't want to die here.
Where is the humanity?
