I’m obsessed with black and white film photography. It’s timeless. It makes you see things in a unique way with just light and shape. It tells the truth without the distraction of color. It’s light and shadow. It’s as simple as that while being as difficult as that. It has a soul that lives on and on—and makes lets me remember how the moment felt more than color photography ever has. Last semester I retook the Beginning Darkroom Film Photography class at @parklandphoto that I first took a “few” years back after high school. It was an honor to have 3 images selected for the juried student art exhibition at @giertz_gallery with one image earning a Merit Award! So this semester I’m back in the darkroom with the Advanced Black & White Darkroom class developing my own film, creating my own prints. It’s hands on and making art for art’s sake - and I love it. I’m planning to sprinkle in some of those images in here amongst my client work. So thanks for joining me on this lovely little journey 🤍 #champaignphotographer #blackandwhitephotography #ilforddelta400 #photovision #parklandcollege #filmphtography #artforartsake Black and white photo of a lady in a hat taking a photo with a camera at the Edgefield Hotel in Portland, Oregon
