Introducing our inaugural Global Pass cohort.

Today, we are thrilled to introduce Part 1 of our cohort. Welcoming Cassie Kinoshi (@cassiekinoshi), Jacquelyn Iyamah (@ogorchukwuu), Boma Iluma (@boma), and Luis Hindman (@luishindman) to Global Pass.

Selected from countless applicants, these artists represent a remarkable breadth of contemporary diasporic practice, comprised of Mercury Prize winners to BAFTA nominated filmmakers to multi-hyphenate celebrated artists.

Each arrives at a pivotal moment in their career, established, celebrated, and ready for what comes next.

Over the next few months, they will travel across Africa, entering new landscapes, communities and conditions for making. For 15 days, each will have the time and space to step away from the familiar, deepen their practice and imagine the work beyond the work that first brought them here.

Watch this space as we spotlight the incredible backgrounds of this cohort.

And this is only the beginning. Part II of the inaugural cohort will be announced over the coming weeks.

We are proud to begin this journey with them.

A pleasure to represent @lahos.world on the red carpet with a one of one, custom piece. Pushing Panjabi prestige and Sikh representation in all its details. Thank you @intsukh & team 🙏🏽🧡

We will continue to archive our stories, our cultures, our people. We celebrate moments like this, yes. But it’s bigger than that. It’s to help us see that it’s possible. We don’t come from this but that doesn’t mean it’s not for us. Step by step we’ll continue to build the tapestry of our past, present and future. We have to push each other to grow, help each other to create space. Envision, create, inspire and pass on. WE have to. It’s important. Those that have pathed the path. That have created new avenues. That are laying new foundations. That are doing it. That are ready to leap. Together 🧡✊🏽💫
