I’m excited to share that Tambó has been humbly submitted in the first-round GRAMMY® ballot for consideration 🎶🙏🏾

The album is very personal and meaningful to me. It draws inspiration from the Afro-descendant communities of Loíza, Puerto Rico, and San Basilio de Palenque, Colombia. It’s also dedicated to my mentor, el maestro Eddie Palmieri.

The album is based on the idea that the Caribbean means more than geography; it is a cultural expression that connects us across the Americas. As an Afro-descendant from Puerto Rico, I feel that these connections help me understand more deeply who I am and where I come from.

I’m grateful for your consideration
Latin Jazz Album - “Tambó”

Grammy-winning saxophonist David Sánchez’s latest album, Tambó, is a deeply personal journey through Afro-Diasporic music, tracing the connections between San Basilio de Palenque, Colombia, and Loíza, Puerto Rico. A celebration of the Caribbean not as a place, but as a living cultural expression. Here is a quick moment at the @teatrocolsubsidio Festival in Bogotá, Colombia. We appreciate your consideration🙏🏾 🎶 @tutunpa @iamcamilomolina @ryckz @luisperdomojazz
