Maybank 2026 ☀️

PB of 1:39, which I’m happy with 😋

After a few injuries that put me out early in the year, I was curious to see where my endurance was at. The run itself felt really comfortable and very stable, so it was great to see the 1:39 at the end.

But Maybank is about much more than the time.

It’s one of those days where you get to see all your mates from all the different running groups around Bali, and we all get to hang out and have a good catch-up afterwards.

I also love seeing how the whole island gets behind Maybank. The schools, church groups, village organisations, running groups and all the locals in their traditional attire. Everyone gets involved and cheers you along the way, it’s such a nice part of the event!

I think my training this year has been much more disciplined, and I’m definitely respecting recovery more. Last year I was probably a bit too enthusiastic about pushing through things.

This year I’ve been building my training around our @continuum.athletics runs, which has been a big positive. Running and training with friends, hanging out, then going for breakfast afterwards. It’s all part of the amazing Bali life!! I’m super thankful to be a part of the @continuum.athletics family and super proud to represent them at all the races.

I’m feeling good and I think I’m on course for a few more PBs.

Stay posted 😁

Alley cat racing through our stopping grounds. What a way to kick off the morning and put the Puma Deviate Pure to the test. Having fun with the Bali running community is always a good time.

Hyrox Jakarta Men’s Relay: 🥈overall with the boys after a big push during the second half of the race.

Everyone lost sight of the @drinkwilder team after @gabeheck created a massive gap one station in so it quickly became a battle for 🥈with some of the OGs of the game in Asia (see slide 2)

A few 3:00-3:10/km runs and lactic-acid-heavy stations later; @rikbeugel put a seal on it with another sprint followed by an effortless 100 unbroken WB. A fun one for the books, next target will be a 51xx; ready for more painful facial expressions by @hui_wai_chung (second to last slide)

Men’s Relay: 53:01 🥈 overall

Community is at the core of everything we do.

At Island Fitness, we’re cultivating more than a place to train, we’re building a collective of individuals committed to growth, discipline, and showing up for themselves and one another.

There’s a unique energy that emerges when people move with a shared purpose. Side by side, we challenge, inspire, and elevate each other.

This is the foundation of our community. And we’re proud of what it continues to become.

A few photos from the past few months…
Life in Bali really is something special. Waking up to those picturesque sunrises over the rice terraces, ending the day with my feet in the sand and sunsets over the sea.
And the best part; sharing all of it with friends who challenge me, motivate me, inspire me, and make me laugh.
