Comedy House Au presents a night of comedy, bringing you @janellekoenig LIVE in Altona, on Wed 28 Oct at 8pm. Western Australia’s First Lady of Comedy, Janelle Koenig, has spent almost 25 years making people laugh — on stage, on screen, on radio and, increasingly, while they’re supposed to be working. A powerhouse headliner, writer, director, MC, actor and content creator, Janelle has worked alongside some of the biggest names in Australian and international comedy, including Jimeoin, Alan Davies, Wayne Brady and Joel Creasey. Behind the scenes, she has written and directed extensively for comedy heavyweights including Em Rusciano, Joel Creasey, Jimeoin and Mary Coustas’ beloved Effie. Blending razor-sharp stand-up with killer(ish) vocals and masterful musical comedy, Janelle was one of a handful of Australian comedians selected for the international edition of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. She’s also built a fiercely loyal online following of more than 30,000, with her comedy and content clocking up more than 20 million views. As a writer, Janelle has earned head-writer credits across some of Australia’s biggest broadcasts and events, including Eurovision – Australia Decides (Logie-nominated, 2019), the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade for SBS (AACTA Award for Best Entertainment Program, 2021), Channel 7’s Take Me Out and the Real Housewives of Sydney Reunion for Binge. When she feels like showing off, Janelle also acts. Her stage credits include leading roles in Priscilla Queen of the Desert, playing to more than 55,000 people at Perth’s Crown Theatre, and We Will Rock You at the Regal Theatre. Janelle is also the producer and host of the sell-out female comedy gala Let’s Hear It For The Girls, returning in 2026, and is a proud ambassador for the Kids Cancer Support Group. Fresh off the successful streaming release of “RESIDENCE” and with the film soon to be available through JB Hi-Fi, award winning Breeding Ground Productions has officially commenced pre production on its next feature film, “Welcome to Frankston”, with production scheduled to begin before the end of 2026. Pre-production is already well underway and has been for the past year, with key locations secured and the project receiving the support and blessing of the Mayor of Frankston. The team has also begun preparations for the official Launch Party & Fundraiser, taking place on Friday, 16 October 2026, bringing together supporters, cast, crew, investors and the local community to celebrate the beginning of production. The official event flyer, along with ticketing and event details, will be unveiled soon. Synopsis:- Welcome to Frankston is a meta mockumentary comedy/drama about a washed up filmmaker who returns to his hometown to make the film he believes will revive his career. But as the production spirals into chaos, the lines between the film, the making of the film, and reality begin to blur, creating an unpredictable and heartfelt story about ambition, ego, home and the magic of filmmaking. The film continues Breeding Ground Productions’ tradition of telling uniquely Australian stories with humour, heart and cinematic ambition, while shining a spotlight on Frankston and the incredible talent found within the local community. Further casting announcements, production updates and event information will be released over the coming months. Instagram @welcometofrankstonfilm www.welcometofrankston.com (under construction)

Two weeks, two cities, one terrible wingman attempt. Melbourne : Crashed @realdiananguyen 's birthday party, caught up with old friends, and attempted to wingman someone, note to self: confirm marital status first. Jumped up at the @thecomicslounge with @lukebensoncomedy hosting from a great height and @tahircomedian preparing from a horizontal one. Perth: Hit at @comedyloungewa to close out the trip. Now back in Brisbane until the Edinburgh tour kicks off.
