HYROX Boston Men’s Pro Doubles | 1:21:34

First pro race in the books and glad to have did it with the boy Luke. Met Luke last semester during rush and doing a doubles together was something we’ve been talking about for a minute.

Coming into this race, I only had 3 weeks of prep since I was fully committed to the triathlon block. And honestly, I was quite scared for what’s to come. Knowing that the sleds were significantly heavier, sore from the relays a day before, and have never had done lunges with 30kg, I didn’t really know what to expect for the final time.

The race definitely challenged us. The sled push was literally an immovable object and Luke had to battle a recurring stomach cramp that crept up from the beginning. Thankfully, we spent a lot of time strategising prior to this race, and were quick to switch to plan B when needed. To add on, competing at probably the most competitive age group in a city full of fitness geeks was intimidating, as we looked tiny compared to the other guys at the starting line. Overall, I had an absolute blast completing my first pro race and shoutout to Luke for pushing through like a dawg.
