Celebrating My Father’s Shadow - the first Nigerian film in Cannes Official Selection and selected as the UK’s Oscar submission for Best International Feature Film.

We worked with a Nigerian artist on a live mural and, unsurprisingly, handing creative people a giant white wall and unlimited colourful pens got very fun very quickly.

It's been a minute since I've promoted an event, 6 years in fact! A bit rusty and out of practice, but I'm back in business for one last Just Jack!

After spending so much of my life running the night we never did a final goodbye, so I'm buzzing to do it again one last time - just sad that's it's to celebrate (and commiserate) the closing of Motion. Another club sadly lost from our UK nightlife scene. We were the first to put speakers into the main room (still very much a skatepark back then) so it feels poetic that we'll be helping pack them up after the very last tune plays in there! We've got an absolutely mega party planned for the occasion. If you're in Bristol (or not) then come on down and join us - it's going to be one for the history books. Hit me up if you need guestlist, main thing is having a good crew in attendance!

It's weird promoting a party in this climate, with genoc*des, wars and climate catastrophes being broadcast on the very same platforms we're using to promote. It's hard not to feel a bit off talking about parties when so many are suffering. It seemed simpler 20 years ago when we started the night. Facebook was barely even a thing back then, so maybe the same stuff was happening we just weren't as informed. Either way, I feel the need to let loose, lose yourself on a dancefloor, make real world connections with like minded humans remains. Now maybe more than ever. Join us if you're about, it's going to be a special one. Once more into the smoke, once more under the lights!

Teenage me first met @thechemicalbrothers at Tribal Gathering in Beckley, Oxfordshire while at Uni back in the mid ‘90s where I casually asked Tom backstage why they’d signed to @virgin__records. “We just wanted to be on the same label as Mike And The Mechanics,” he quipped while looking back over his shoulder. And they haven’t looked back since. (It was also at this festival that I picked up the first issue of @muzikmagazinearchive on the way home with Tom and Ed on the cover so no biggie.)

Last night’s blistering three hour DJ set at @amnesiaibiza was the first time I’ve seen them perform in Ibiza since headlining Space back in 2012 but this show was arguably even bigger, with new LP cuts like ‘Live Again’ and ‘No Reason’ soon making way for ‘Hey Boy, Hey Girl’, Gerd Janson’s joyous piano-house mix of ‘Skipping Like A Stone’ with @beck and a still-transcendent ‘Star Guitar’ to close things out at 4AM. Ahead of that, @amnesiaibiza rocked out to ‘Lack Of Love’ by Charles B, beaming in from ‘88.

My head is still spinning!
