1300 People, 7 Sessions, 49 Camps, and I get this one! 🥹
Fish Camp was something I looked forward to for so long, but I don’t think I ever could’ve understood how much it would mean to me until I experienced it. Between the long stressful days, little to no sleep, inside jokes, yelling, and all the little moments in between, these people became so incredibly special to me. To my fellow counselors and chairs! Thank you for becoming some of my favorite people. Thank you for the laughs, the late nights, the hugs, the chaos, and for caring so deeply for me. I would do every boring meeting, every long hot day, and every exhausted drive home all over again if it meant getting to experience this with y’all just one more time. To my freshmen! I hope you know how much you are loved and how genuinely excited I am to watch you make Aggieland your home. Getting to be one of the first people to welcome you into this place was such a privilege. I hope years from now you remember how greatly you enjoyed fish camp. To Kathleen! I couldn’t have asked for a better partner to go through this experience with. Thank you for always matching the energy, making me laugh, and being someone I could count on through all the chaos. I’m so glad we got to take onFish Camp, and I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else! #perfpartz To the Mr. And Mrs. James Deegear! Thank you for opening up your household to us from day one! You took 24 counselors and loved them unconditionally before we even knew you existed. Thank you for treating the 26 of us as your own children and making sure that we feel like we belong! You were the most amazing namesakes for this amazing camp.
It’s weird spending so much time preparing for something and then suddenly it’s just… over. I am forever thankful for Camp Deegear, forever thankful for my people, and forever thankful that I got to be a tiny part of someone else’s Aggie story. Until next year, Lakeview! ❤️

‼️13 DAYS!!!!! HOW IS TIME FLYING BY SO FAST?!?!? ‼️

To continue the celebration, we are doing our first DG spotlight!!

Introducing Faye and Lucas!!!🚨🚨

DG 12: Killa found Boerne fire debris, son in New York’s subway serving roman birthdays cakes

What Faye had to say to Lucas:
I’m just glad we get to make this journey together because you make me realize why Fish Camp is such a great thing. I know our fish are lucky to have someone like you. Whatever takes place this summer, I know we are going to make an amazing team, and I’m really glad you are apart of it. You make everything more fun, and I can’t wait to see all the laughs and happy tears we make on our way to make the best camp possible.

What Lucas had to say to Faye:
Faye, just wanted to say thank you for being my partner for this camp! I could not see myself with anyone else as a partner other than you. The way you hold yourself as a person inspires me each and everyday. I can tell that you are going to do great things after college and will make a meaningful impact on the freshman.

❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥We are so stoked they are ours! Only 13 more sleeps till we get to see this partnership in action!!!❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

We’re back at it again with another double feature first year spotlight post!!!

We are ecstatic to introduce you to our very own Lucas Ramirez! Lucas is sophomore (A-A-A-A-A) History major from Bryan, TX.

Camp History:
Freshman: Session D Aqua Camp Nielsen
First year: Session F Red Camp Deegear❤️‍🔥

Our very own Lucas’ favorite red thing is a red lightsaber. He is a ginormous lover of Jesus, Goku(yes anime), and his family (hey thats us). He is a ginormous disliker of nothing (simple kind of man). Three really amazing facts about our Lucas are that he plays the trombone (man of many talents), his favorite movie is Transformers(2007 version), and he has a signed jersey from Johnny Manziel (yea aura). He is such a simple man that he doesn’t even have a hot take (wow we strive to be him). The quote that our guy lives by is Sirach 10:6: “No matter the wrong, do no violence to your neighbor, and do not walk the path of arrogance.” (This is amazing, actually). He is a huge fan of hip-hop and rap music, specifically Travis Scott (Astroworld).

Why Fish Camp?🐟⛺️
I wanted to find a community through a program that can get people to do uncomfortable, but good, things.

Lucas is so excited to learn and teach what an Aggie is supposed to be.

Advice for the Class of 2030:🤟⬇️
You have 4 years (or more) to do what you have to do, but make sure you squeeze in time for other people and your own needs. You do not have it all figured out in your first semester.

Camp Deegear ❤️‍🔥’s our guy Lucas
