Slicing practice with Lulu 🔪

Here are some slicing tips that has helped Lulu develop her slice and things we're still working on:

• Chopper grip like you're chopping your vegetables (continental)
• Start high, finish low ! stop swiping across the body
• Set the racket high early, no last-second panic swipes
• Keep the face slightly open & stable
• Step into the shot — don’t fall away
• Smooth, controlled swing > power (avoid squeezing the racket with a death grip!

Bonus tip:
Start with backhand volleys just to get the feel for the high to low action with a loose grip

Footwork sets the tone.
Lulu dialling in her movement as part of her 6-week performance plan — sharper steps, better balance, cleaner strikes.
This is where real improvement starts. 🎯
