We set out to paddle 10 miles today. We almost made it. We did 9+ miles straight out 5 miles & back. Not sure why it was shorter coming back, but fun! We ran into 4 large pods of dolphins, which is always fun. Rich, Tracey & Yuki on SUP and me on my OC1 (it’s the only way I can be as fast as Tracey 😂). It’s paddles like this that remind me why I started paddling.

Ocean Academy SUP athletes have been on a roll during this winter season of racing. Hanohano, Hal Rosoff, and Lanakila are in the books. They train hard, show up and support each other on race day, have a blast racing in all conditions, and bring home hardware. So proud of these hard working people. It’s more than a training club. It’s a community. I’m so blessed to be their coach. Come join our paddle family this March as we prepare for the Tom Davis Ocean Challenge and Santa Cruz Paddlefest. Link to training club is in the bio. #oceanaacademy #standuppaddle #paddleboarding #trainingclub #oceanacademysup #hanohano #halrosoff #lanakilaclassic #community #teamwork

Hal Rosoff Classic x Valentine’s Day. 💘
What an awesome day doing what I love, with the people that I love. Got to spend a wonderful day with my Valentine CJ, racing our OC1’s, and see all my Ocean Academy athletes crush their races. We continued our Valentine’s Day with a scooting adventure and sunset bonfire picnic dinner in Huntington Beach. Gotta love February in Southern California. Thank you NAC for a great race. Thank you CJ for being my Honey Bear. Thank you Lord for this life. 🫶🏼💘🙏🏻🙌🏼 #valentinesday #halrosoffclassic #oc1 #outrigger #love #adventure #scootlife #cjandca

Another tradition! Helping some pre-race jitters by going into full-on selfie mode! The ohana at the @hanohano_ocean_challenge is beyond words. Great friends, new friends supporting and pushing each other to greater limits! #hanohano #sandiego #missionbay #outriggercanoe #race

Becky Stuart was a blast! Huge thank you to @oceanside.outrigger for this fabulous race. What an improvement for me over USA surf nationals earlier this year where I couldn’t handle the swell and DNF’ed. 😇

Hanohano 2025 is in the books and the whole OA Fam crushed it! We had some top 10 finishes, new personal bests, lots of headwind and rough conditions! Way to go team. Loved seeing our gals cheer each other on at the finish line too. What an awesome family we are. #oceanacademyusa #oceanacademytrainingclub #hanohano #standuppaddle #paddleboarding

Great weekend in #parkerarizona at the @adr_anotherdamrace. Tough 12 mile distance race, did great the first 6miles 😅..not so much the last 6 miles, but I'm happy with my 3rd place overall and 1st in my age group.

After 7 years Big Bear paddlefest is back. I heard they used to have 100 + paddlers. Not too many paddlers this year, I hope more will participate next year.
On Sat they had the lakefest classic 10k and on Sunday the Dooley Cup 20K race circumnavigating the entire race and new for this year the Paddle, Paddle, Pass 1 Mile sit on top kayak relay race.
Including an open water swim race, arm wrestling contest, live music, and an action sports show. Food and beer vendors as well.
What a fun race with strong athletes, some old and new friends and a gorgeous view.
I felt good and strong. I placed 1st my age group. I only did the 10k race (not really, was shorter than supposed to)
A big shout out to the paddle race organizer Matt Smith. We'll done job 👏🏼 👏🏼
