🚨 CHEESE ALERT! 🚨

Gerry took over today’s #WalkAboutWithLex at Underpass Park and Steve at Fifth Town Cheese issued a Cheese Alert.

Obviously he had to investigate.

The new crumbly ricotta? Amazing. Cheese Alert deserved.

Meanwhile, Gerry found:
🍨 Lulu Gelato and their small cart
☕ Mi Mi and Vietnamese coffee
🥟 The Nepali momo folks are BACK
🪧 Bitter Better Canada showing off some great new signage
😂 And, naturally, plenty of banter along the way.

And back at our table, today’s samples are:
🌿 Danforth Greek
🥑 Spicy Guacamole
🌮 Birria Taco
🍖 Hogtown Sweet

We’re at Underpass Park until 7:30 tonight, so come taste some spices, investigate the market and, apparently, respond to important cheese emergencies.

Can’t make it tonight? We’re back on Thursday, August 27

Our July 25 gathering in David Crombie Park marked the final Joy in the Park of summer 2026, and it was such a good one 🧡 But don’t worry, before the weather feels cold again, we’ll be back for the last Joy in the Park of 2026 in October!

In the July edition, we had Sambaé @sambae.toronto filled the park with samba rhythms and the kind of energy that had people clapping from their blankets, dancing on the grass, and smiling at strangers. Lua Shayenne Dance Company @luashayennedancecompany brought a beautiful performance rooted in African and Afro-diasporic dance, with live percussion, song, movement, and moments that invited the audience right into the rhythm.

Around the park, neighbours lined up for henna by Krishna Patel @mizzling.heena , kids got their faces painted by Linda Epp @facepaintingwithlinda , families waved along from the grass, Hayley Landry @duppyvibe brought surprise and joy on stilts, and people stayed after the performances just to be together for a little longer.

The next Joy in the Park is on October 9, mark your calendars now!

Thank you to Sambaé, Lua Shayenne Dance Company, Hayley Landry, Linda Epp, Krishna Patel, our volunteers, funders, partners, and everyone who came out.

What a time! Neighbourhood Electrical had the absolute honour of participating in the 2nd annual OVO Golf tournament hosted by @octobersveryown - hands down the best tournament we’ve ever been a part of with everyone coming together for such a great cause - shoutout to all the great sponsors who helped put together such an incredible day!

Yesterday, we celebrated National Indigenous Peoples Day in David Crombie Park.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Jamii’s 8th Annual National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration. It was a joy to gather with neighbours, families, artists, and community members for an evening of music, dance, food, art, and connection on the Summer Solstice.
