This event was so amazing and special to me. Mion is a character I really hold close to my heart and cherish and Higurashi-no really 07thexpansion as a whole is something that really has shaped my life and how I view friendships and forgiveness. I’m so happy to have done this event and thank you @windycitysipscene for putting it together 🖤 also thank you to all the lovely cosplayers who were there with me. I don’t get out into the community much so it was lovely to meet some new people and make some new friends!

The modern Watanagashi Festival is just a summer festival, but long ago it was a gruesome night of feasting ⛩️

HAPPY WATANAGASHI TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE!!!🎏 It’s an even more special celebration this year as when I was originally typing this post (connection be damned) @hayleysteinphoto sent the gang the announcement for the NEW Higurashi ANIME!!!!!! Words cannot describe how excited I am for this as well as the possibility of more people finding and falling in love with 07th Expansion the way we all have!!

On Thursday, I hosted my VERY FIRST community event; for Watanagashi & it is safe to say it was a success!!🤩 of course there are areas for improvement but knowing what I know now- I can start preparing now for Watanagashi in Chicago 2027🎏

This event truly wouldn’t be possible without every single person involved in participating in the event. I cannot thank each of you enough whether you showed up for support or were apart of the event, from the bottom of my heart, I thank you❤️

I’m starting to realize that the one thing I’m naturally good at is bringing people together, and I think that’s a beautiful thing for someone who used to struggle with their sense of identity. That being said, expect MORE community events- even if they are photoshoots and not full events!

We have more pictures on the way from @glass_cannon.photography, stay tuned!! For now, enjoy my small photo dump with everyone!!

I’m still so overjoyed that this happened because it’s been a long time dream of mine because Higurashi & Ryukishi07 are so dearly special to me❤️❤️

(Side Note: I FINALLY found Dragon Age friends IRL which anyone who knows me knows I’ve been SEARCHING so who knows what can happen👀👀)

The Hinamizawa gang thanks all of you for your love & support with our very first Watanagashi! We all had so much fun getting to know everyone and discussing the mysteries of our beloved series! More pictures coming soon!

Thank you so much to everyone who showed support in any way! This turned out to be such an amazing event! I’m sorry to those we missed for packing up early- if you are interested in a cupsleeve, please DM me, but fret not because there is good news!

The amount of support & interest confirmed to me that I should make this a yearly event! Next year I would like to modify some things with the feedback I’ve received as well as make this a multi day event on the weekend!

I couldn’t have asked for a better turn out! Thank you all! I hope to see you at the NANA cupsleeve in July!🍓

Another year means another crazy, chaotic, but ever so memorable weekend at Anime Central. 💙 It's so insane to me how 3 days can pass by so quickly, but the memories I make every single year makes the exhaustion at the end so worth it. My heart is already aching and I miss my friends so much!!! UGH. So much con crunch and buildup just for it all to end as quickly as it started! It's not faaaair.

Acen is forever my most favorite con I attend, and I don't think that will ever change. The friends I cosplay with and the people I meet always make the event SO worth it. Thank you SOOO much to anybody who took time out of their weekend to speak with me; whether it be a quick compliment in passing, or a full conversation. From reuniting with old friends to making new ones, I am so grateful for anyone who spent any amount of time with me this weekend. 🥹💞
