If I could live one day over and over again for the rest of my life, it would be this one.

My favourite love story will always be ours.

The weekend diary currently says:

Laundry.

Groceries.

Clean the house.

Pretend we’re going to meal-prep.

But we’ve mentally replaced the entire list with:

Climbing Finchley lookout, and marvelling at the view.
A group cross country lesson on our horses with our friends.
Relaxing in the garden at Willow’s Retreat with a platter from Laguna Village Providore and a bottle (or two) of wine.

The chores will still be there on Monday.

That wedge-tailed eagle may not be.

Which one are you choosing first?

And by nothing, we mean:

A walk that doesn’t have a destination.

Stopping every few minutes because someone spotted wildlife.

Losing an unreasonable amount of time to staring into the distance from the hammock.

And lighting the fire long before it’s technically necessary.

So yes, the calendar says nothing.

But it’s a very specific kind of nothing.

Send this to the person you want to do nothing with this weekend.

Consider this permission to stop over-planning the school holidays.

You don’t need tickets for every day.

You don’t need a colour-coded itinerary.

And you definitely don’t need to spend the entire break driving between activities.

At Willow’s Retreat, mornings can begin with coffee and breakfast overlooking the garden, with your ears filled by birdsong.

The middle of the day might involve a guided nature walk with Phil or Lyndel, where you get to go off the beaten track, and learn more about Yengo and the Wollombi Valley.

And after dinner, everyone can sit and roast marshmallows over the fire.

There’s room for the kids to explore, room for the adults to breathe and no pressure to fit everything into a schedule.

Spring school holiday stays are available now.

Comment WILLOW and we’ll send you the information.

Meet the hosts; part two-

Now, this is part of an interview with @lumae.visuals that embarrassingly has taken us over a year to post; but, if you’re interested, we can share more of our story here…
This one is all about why we started; the reason we continue? We love having such amazing guests here, keen to share our slice of paradise.

Maybe next time you’d like to know who Willow is?

Meanwhile …

Whilst another weekend disappears between errands, housework and saying, “We really should plan something soon”…

This is what’s happening at Willow’s Retreat.

You started the morning with your horse, enjoying the grass in her spacious yard. Then, you headed down to @willows.leap next door for a XC lesson with Lyndel, before a gentle cooldown trail ride through the bush.

As you rode along, the sounds of the birds in the trees around you were amazing - gang-gangs, kookaburras, pardalottes. Only to arrive home to a young wallaroo with joey in the pouch; right on your doorstep.

You finish the evening sitting outside around the fire pit. To begin with, the sky wasn’t that dramatic. But the longer you sit, and watch, without the disturbance of the light from the city, more and more (and more!) stars start to appear….

These are the experiences that make a stay at Willow’s Retreat different—and they could be part of your next weekend away.

Comment “WILLOW” and we’ll send you the information.

It’s 9:04 am on Monday.

They’ve opened their inbox, stared into the distance and announced that they need a holiday.

Again.

At this point, don’t send them another motivational quote.

Send them 50 acres of countryside, a hammock in the hills, uninterrupted mornings and a weekend where nobody needs anything from them.

Willow’s Retreat is less than 90 minutes from Sydney—close enough for a spontaneous weekend away, but far enough to make Monday feel like someone else’s problem.

You already know exactly who needs to see this.

Send it to them and consider this your official request to finally book the weekend.

Turns out, you didn’t need another productivity hack.

You needed to wake up without an alarm.

Drink your coffee while it was still hot.

Spend time outside in nature, without checking the clock.

Listen to the birds instead of another notification.

And remember what it feels like to do absolutely nothing without feeling guilty about it.

Sometimes, you need to step away from the noise completely.

Willows Retreat is less than 90 minutes from Sydney, but it feels far enough away from everything to finally breathe again.

Send this to the person who keeps saying, “I really need a weekend away.”

Just a little hello from behind the scenes 🙋🏻‍♀️

It’s been a little quiet around here lately.

Life has looked a little different these past few months, between life, work and growing our little boy 🥹 social media hasn’t been at the top of the list.

Creativity comes in waves. Lately, the tide’s been out. And I’ve learnt that’s okay too.

Sometimes you need to take a little breather, refill your cup and trust that inspiration finds its way back.

Thanks for sticking around while I find mine again 🤍
