A few of my favorite moments from June & July 🌞

Each year gets sweeter and getting to see our kids start to play together is one of the greatest things in the world. Have shed a lot of happy tears and have to keep explaining to Palmer that sometimes Mommy cries when she’s just so happy. My sweet, empathetic girl 🤍

(Not pictured: all of the doctor visits and tears and sleepless nights because about half of the last two months someone was sick 🙃 it’s a highlight reel, remember!!!!)

If you’ve been around for a while, you know I rarely ever share specific products unless they have truly enhanced the quality of my life and my own health journey.

I’ve been approached by companies that have asked me to promote their product and I don’t because it doesn’t align with my values or what I could see as being beneficial to my community.

Last night in a room full of doctors and researchers, the through-line was hard to miss. Our gut shapes far more of our health than most of us were ever told, from our hormones to how we age.

I spent the evening at @superpower for the @tiny.health event, and so much of what they shared spoke to exactly what women are moving through.

Dr. Emeran Mayer, a pioneer of the gut brain axis, talked about the revolution coming for perimenopause and menopause. As the research matures, we might support women’s hormones by optimizing gut health, so that some women could one day rely less on HRT. It is early and still being studied, but it points straight to the estrobolome, the community of gut bacteria that helps regulate the estrogen circulating in your body.

Dr. Melina Jampolis shared that the patients in her practice with a healthier gut microbiome responded better to GLP-1 medication.

Dr. Elisa Song reminded us that our gut foundation is laid early and shapes us for decades, long before anyone hands us the word perimenopause.

And Cheryl Sew Hoy shared how TinyHealth began, from watching her own toddler diagnosed with eczema and refusing to accept that there were no answers. They also unveiled a new marker connecting inflammation to aging, what they are calling inflammaging, read through the gut microbiome, and they now test both the gut and the vaginal microbiome, areas of women’s health that have gone under-researched for far too long.

I also got to meet Dr. Vivian Chen, the medical doctor behind the @lumeboxpro , my favorite red light device. I am such a fan of her and her work.

The future of women’s health is being built right now, and it was an honor to witness a piece of it. 🤍🌱
