Oh what a night. Four nights, actually. If you haven’t been to @aplaceforfood’s #ChefsforChange before, this is the year to go. If you’ve been, you know what I’m talking about. In the next few weeks, top chefs from across Canada will come together for four nights to create an outstanding meal - all to support programs that change lives in low-income communities through food. You don’t want to miss it. To discover who’s cooking + how to get tickets now >>> tap link in bio or visit bit.ly/ChefsForChange2020

This year’s Canadian Spotlight Gala features a first for Reel Asian; a live-script read of a film that is still in pre-production. That film is EGGPLANT, also a first for this year’s Canadian Spotlight Artist @yungfilms as he breaks away from documentary making to dive right into the world of narrative script. From the @sundanceorg screenwriters lab to a table read with a cast of Asian Canadian talent that is soon to be revealed, let this be your first look at the highly-anticipated works of one of Canada’s leading Asian cinema talents. ⁣
⁣
Following the live script read is a Q&A, moderated by @vdotism as well as a reception. It all takes place at Centre for Social Innovation Annex location on November 14 at 8PM. ⁣
⁣
🎟Tickets are $20 for the general public and $18 for students and seniors. Get yours at reelasian.com/liveread⁣
⁣
Thank you to our Canadian Spotlight lead sponsor, @bellmediapr. This event is possible with support from @actratoronto and Writers Guild of Canada. We are also excited to have @livinghyphen as a community partner and @lunchroomtoronto as a community supporter. ⁣

Meet @lunchroomtoronto, a talented group of creatives that mix co-working with meal time. Both the space and the food comes courtesy of @studiogabe, a photographer, designer, and mother-hen-by-proxy to this revolving group of about 30 creatives. “It just happened naturally,” says Li “I can’t work in libraries and coffee shops so I started bribing people to come work at home with me. Now I’m cooking like I would if I had a family, the way my mom cooked for us every day.” Feast your eyes through our link in bio 👀🍴

So many things to be grateful for in 2018.
The one thing that sticks out the most was when we took over the soup kitchens at the Good Shepherd with some of our closest friends, and fed some ppl that really need it. Hands down, some of the best memories 🙏

Cheers to doing more good, meaningful work in 2019. Excited to keep this ship going, with new perspectives, a new approach, but with that same grind.

Happy New Year 🔥

hey friends, Russ had just one job and that was to paw out flyers to promote #Canzine. Obviously he slept thru the entire afternoon, so can you help him get the word out? The Lunchroom Collective will be tabling for the first time at #CanzineTO! This Saturday at @agotoronto 1-7pm. Come thru! Russ will probably sleep through it all to be honest, don’t be a Russ. #RussellTheKitty #shoplocal #supportyourartists #canzine2018

Thank you to all the talented artists, guests, and @lululemonto for making our first artist night market event a success. Artists had a chance to showcase and sell their work through the night, with over 200 guests coming and in and out of the space. So much talent in one space. We can't wait to let you know about the next one. Let us know any artist friends that might be interested!
