❤️🖤 WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY AT RUTGERS UNIVERSITY–NEWARK HOMECOMING! ❤️🖤

Today was a reminder of what can happen when community, opportunity, and passion come together! 🎶🥁 A HUGE shout-out to the Rutgers University–Newark Homecoming Committee for welcoming the KOOL KIDS FOUNDATION MARCHING BAND and giving our young people the opportunity to perform during the soccer game! We are truly grateful for the opportunity to showcase our scholars’ talent, dedication, and hard work on such a special day. ❤️🙌🏾

Moments like these remind us that we are building something bigger than a band. We are building connections, creating opportunities, opening doors, and inspiring the next generation to dream boldly and walk confidently in their purpose. Every performance is another step toward something greater!

✨ THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT, AND WE ARE JUST GETTING STARTED! ✨

Let’s continue to strengthen our connections, invest in our young people, and build a community where collaboration creates lasting impact. When we come together with a shared vision, there is no limit to what we can accomplish!

Thank you, Rutgers University–Newark, for being part of this journey. The best is yet to come! 💛🥁❤️

Let’s continue to connect, grow, and make a difference TOGETHER! 🤝🏾🌟

🔥 WHO TOLD YOU THAT BEING A CHRISTIAN MEANS YOU CAN'T BE ANGRY?! 👀

Somewhere along the way, we confused being Christlike with being emotionally silent.

Let me disrupt that theology AND that psychology. 🎯

You can love God and still be angry. You can have faith and still be frustrated. You can forgive and still have boundaries. You can be anointed and STILL be annoyed. 💅🏽

Anger is an emotion. What you do with it is a decision.

Stop allowing people to weaponize your faith to invalidate your feelings. God never required you to abandon your humanity to demonstrate your holiness.

And for the people who think every uncomfortable emotion is a spiritual deficiency? We need to have a conversation. 🎤

Faith doesn't cancel feelings. Emotional intelligence doesn't contradict spiritual maturity.

Now, let's talk: Have you ever been made to feel guilty for being angry because you're a Christian? 👇🏽

More than just a podcast! 🎙️✨ Tune into The Family Matters Podcast on YouTube & Facebook, and grab your copy of my book My Mom Is My Biggest Hater today! 📚

Not all hate looks like hate. Sometimes, it looks like motherhood.

It looks like competition disguised as love. Criticism disguised as guidance. Jealousy disguised as concern. Control disguised as protection. Emotional neglect disguised as strength. Invalidation disguised as perspective. Public praise followed by private humiliation. Parentification disguised as responsibility. Conditional love disguised as standards. And sabotage disguised as sacrifice.

The most damaging wounds aren't always inflicted by people who say they hate us. Sometimes, they come from people who insist they love us.

A mother can love her daughter and still be the source of profound psychological harm. Intent does not erase impact. Trauma does not excuse mistreatment. And biology does not guarantee emotional safety.

My MOM Is My BIGGEST HATER isn't about teaching daughters to hate their mothers. It's about exposing harmful patterns, disrupting generational cycles, and empowering women to stop confusing emotional harm with love.

Because healing begins when we stop protecting the behavior that wounded us.

Sometimes, the weight you’re carrying isn’t even yours to hold. 💔

We take on other people’s problems, pain, struggles, and expectations, then wonder why we feel so emotionally and mentally drained.

One thing this message reminded me is that you can love people, support them, and pray for them without carrying their burdens as your own.

Not everything is yours to fix, and not every battle is yours to fight. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is give it to God and trust Him to handle what you cannot. 🙏🏽

Stop carrying what God never asked you to hold.

Thank you, Reverend @lunicboyd , for this powerful reminder!
