„Neulust,“ the latest EP from @neuzeitlicheb Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge, introduces listeners to the talents of Joshua Gottmanns @jjjoshua_gg and Niklas Wandt @francosmells . Wandt’s captivating voice invokes a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the era when Thorsten Fenslau was active, infusing tracks with poetic recitations. Wandt’s drumming harmonizes perfectly with Gottmanns‘ warm chords and captivating melodies. Together, they debuted on Zurich’s Lustpoderosa label with „Neulust,“ aiming to redefine their musical connection. Their presence in the central European underground scene has been marked by releases on Themes for Great Cities or Bureau B, accompanied by their vintage German Wave sound and lively performances. Regular touring has been part of their journey. „Neulust,“ recorded with minimal intervention, delves into themes of love, estrangement, and consumerism, blending haunting electro, deep house, NDW, and Euro Dance Elements. The EP signifies a significant stylistic shift and stands as the band’s most compelling offering yet in their ongoing musical evolution. Gesellschaftliche Erwartungen is back with a special duo from Zurich called @cocofrescoco ! Their infamous DJ sets are an eclectic overture of fine selected Italo, (Swiss) Disco and obscure sounds of the past and the future. Fitting my needs of happiness in this strange times of senseless violence. Coco Fresco refers not only to a tropical juice, it is that sweet melody rinsing down your ear, while enjoying the bitterness of a clashing society. Stay fresh - stay strong. ✨✨ For the next episode we welcome Nive @nevesthika from the @_f_9_6_ and a fresh member of the @rhizomfestival Collective. Nive compiled a beautiful eclectic selection full of blissful summer vibes. Link in story✨ Social expectations are always surounding us, inevitable construction of our society. To unlearn toxic behaviour, internalized processes is not an easy step. Nobody shows us at school, our parents too busy with the system and our friends overwhelmed by all this information. How do we reconnect with ourself if we grew up in two cultures, where are our roots, how do we spread them and how deep are they going and influencing us? The past as a filter, the future as a fuel for a new understanding of our self. Being in two cultures, influenced by capitalism and social expectations. Here Nive`s grounded and empowering statement for you folx: "How do I unlearn social expectations that I had to meet growing up between two very different cultures. Tired of hiding and adjusting, I am acting against some toxic structures and redefine my Swiss-Tamil identity. Finding other South-Asian artists online helps me a lot to keep going." Lets keep on learning from each another.
