Last night we had another great meetup organized by @portalbrazilusa Portal Brazil USA, this time at Ironside Fish & Oyster in San Diego.

One of the things I value most about these gatherings is the chance to reconnect with people I already know and, at the same time, meet other Brazilians who are building their lives, careers and businesses here in the United States.

Moving to another country teaches you a lot about independence, but it also makes you understand the value of community. There is something important about being around people who share some of the same references, understand the challenges of starting over in a different place, and are genuinely interested in seeing other people succeed too.

It is always good to see Brazilians prospering here. Even better when that success comes together with the desire to create stronger, more connected communities.

Thank you, Portal Brazil USA, for continuing to create these opportunities in San Diego.

She came to give more than her hair. 🤍

At A Drive for Life, @sharlenymatte donated her hair in honor of the children fighting cancer, and in loving memory of her mom, who lost her battle with breast cancer.

Some gestures are small to the eye but enormous to the heart. Her hair will become a wig for someone going through treatment, a piece of confidence, a little bit of normal on a hard day.

Thank you, @sharlenymatte , for turning your grief into a gift. Your mom would be so proud.

We spent practically the whole month celebrating Gabriel—he’s such a party boy, how could we do anything different?

This year, he asked for a LEGO-themed pool party and a celebration at LEGOLAND. Mission accomplished! Saturday was just the way he wanted it: decorations he made himself, the friends he asked for, and a true best day ever. We spent 10 hours at the resort, enjoying the pool, sunshine, laughter, and all the fun—then ended the night with s’mores and Frozen playing on an improvised big screen.

On Sunday, even though we were exhausted, we still spent the day at LEGOLAND. Seeing his excitement on the rides and making these memories together made it all worth it.

Thank goodness birthdays only come once a year, because this mom needs a post-party vacation. 😂 Thank you everyone that celebrated him with us! ❤️🎉
