this one is for 13 year old me. who was still figuring out who she was. where she belonged in this world. this woman is more than a pop star to me. she's the reason i discovered my queerness so young. she's the reason for my passion and dedication to live music. she was the link that pulled me into activism. she's who helped me explore my creativity. she gave me courage to explore, to feel that being an artist WAS a viable path in life. she brought me to my community, my friendships that i've had for over 15 years. she was the reason i got up every morning when i was so sick with lupus and didn't give up. i know this might sound insane to some, but she is such a major part of my life. i have now spent more of my time on this earth loving this woman than i have not.
