It’s the first Sunday of October… and I just want to leave this here for someone who needs it.

You don’t have to have everything figured out before you can be grateful. Sometimes, we’re so focused on what hasn’t happened yet that we forget to appreciate what God has already done.

You may not be where you thought you would be by now. You may still be waiting for that prayer to be answered. You may be building from scratch. You may be trusting God for your home, your finances, your business, your career, your family or simply for clarity about what comes next.

But please, don’t let what you are waiting for make you blind to what you already have. There are things you prayed for years ago that are now your everyday reality. There are doors God opened that you didn't even know how to pray for. There are battles He fought for you that you may never know about.

So right now, pause. Look around you. See the little things. Appreciate the people. Thank God for the journey. And if all you can say today is, “Father, thank You for keeping me,” let that be enough. Because sometimes, the biggest testimony isn't what you received…It’s the fact that through everything, God kept you. As we step into another week, may we have the grace to trust God's timing, enjoy our present season and remain grateful while we wait for the next chapter.

With all the planning stress, my work stress, running around, and everything that comes with putting an event together in just 1 month and a few weeks… I STILL ADDED WEIGHT. And yes, I made one decision early: no matter what happens, I must smile till the end of that day.

My aware/unaware videos? FIRE🔥 My pictures? FIRE🔥 My energy? UNMATCHED😂

Because after spending all that money and putting in all that work, am I supposed to be looking stressed in my own wedding pictures? NEVER!!!!
And the best part? I genuinely had peace of mind throughout the event. God had us. My husband had me. Our parents and friends had us. And together, we had already sorted EVERYTHING.

Moral of the story: Pray well, plan well, appoint roles to your friends,get the vendors you can afford, trust your vendors and GO AND ENJOY YOUR OWN EVENT.

Show me your bride and I’ll show you what an ENERGETIC BRIDE looks like! The bride who doesn't sleep a night before her event, who sold perfumes to her friends and hubby's friends during bachelorette party, who smiled throughout the event, who poses for all cameras aware and unaware, not jumping up and down looking stressed and frustrated or being pressured, was busy being a fine, happy, energetic bride? THAT ONE IS MEEEEEEE....

A long overdue moment to appreciate @mopams_cakenconfecionery honestly, this was a WORK OF ART!!!!

Let me start by saying, I genuinely did not want this cake to finish😂 I kept looking at it like, “Surely, this thing can last 2 weeks” Because how do you cut something this beautiful and this delicious and expect me to just move on with my life?😩

Funny enough, I didn’t even meet my baker properly until my the main day. My amazing friend @annie_e__ was the negotiator and I eventually met the baker physically at the event hall when she came to share part of the cake with everyone present. THIS WOMAN CAN BAKE!🔥
The cake was absolutely beautiful on the outside, but what really got me was that the inside matched the outside! Because sometimes you see a gorgeous cake and then taste it and you’re like, “Ah… okay.” 😂. But this one? TOP NOTCH

Beautiful, fluffy, delicious, well-balanced and just everything I wanted my cake to be. Every single person that tasted it had something good to say, and honestly, I was just there smiling like a proud mother.
I was even strategic with my own portion. 😂 I kept the smallest possible portion given to me because I wanted to preserve it and enjoy it little by little.

But apparently, God had plans. Two days after, CAKE IS GONE😂😂 I didn't even get to finish mourning it! 😂
Honestly, I'm so grateful because a cake that makes people keep asking for another slice is a successful cake in my books!

To my amazing baker, thank you! ❤️ You didn't just bake a cake; you created something that became part of the beautiful memories of that day. The design was STUNNING. The execution was BEAUTIFUL. And the taste? Please, let's not even start. 😮‍💨🔥 You absolutely understood the assignment and delivered beyond expectation. THANK YOU SO MUCH MAMA

One thing I learnt from planning my event: when it comes to your event, do it the way YOU genuinely want it done, not the way people want you to do it.

People will always have opinions. Someone will say, “You should do it this way,” another will say, “Ah, why are you doing that?” and before you know it, you’re planning an event that no longer feels like yours.

At the end of the day, it’s your money, your event, your memories and your special day. Do what makes you happy. Choose what you love. Stay true to your vision.

Because after all the guests have gone, the music has stopped and the decorations have been taken down, you are the one left with the memories.....

So babes, plan YOUR event. Not everybody’s event😂
Do it your way and enjoy every bit of it!
