POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My first Painters & Poets attending as a poet!!!

I wanted to challenge myself by doing something new. This was also my first time reciting a personal piece publicly. I’m also very grateful to have connected with @art_x_rissab! She is the sweetest and it was comforting knowing I was partnered with someone who understood the feelings I’ve felt while trying to navigate myself through this grief. Everyone handles their grief differently and this is one way I’m handling mine. My biggest breakthrough was both realizing and truly understanding that as her physical self is no longer with us, carrying on the essence of her spirit through MY existence is keeping her alive. The same goes for any of our ancestors— THEIR DNA is embedded in OUR DNA, they will always be a part of us. We are more than physical beings and I’m constantly learning what that really means.

I wish I got a better pic of the painting but I’ll get one later😭

🌟s/o @djbria_ for being a fire DJ & mixing tf out of them songs
🌟s/o @luvke_21 I want to invest in one of her pieces SO bad
🌟s/o to all of the other participants, everyone was nice as per usj
🌟 and of course thank you to @serenes.dream for curating said event as always! 💜

Sorry for the wait 💫

Serenes dream presents Painters & poets: Art of resistance ✊🏾

We celebrated under the light of black evolution, black men, black women, growth, breaking boundaries and most of all loving the skin we are in!

To be black is to be, RADICAL‼️

I want to thank every person that has come before me to set foundational steps for us to actively live in being unapologetically black.

I want to appreciate every single last painter & poet that helped me with this show, in putting your heart, art and passion into everything that you do, it is seen. Thank you for motivating me to be better 🤍

I want to appreciate the photographers (@_can.snaps @selfishcamera ) who are always on sight to capture the moment, being down the for cause to teach, learn and grow and for being open to collaboration, I can’t thank you enough. Literal lifesaver 🔊

I want to appreciate my dj for this connection we are building and being my partner in crime @djbria_

I want to thank my vendors for coming out in your most blackest self and representing your art 🩷

📸: @kitas.visions — thank you so much for these vibes🤭

We slanging flyers, cultivating community & giving love ✊🏾

Black History Month is a powerful reminder to honor the untold stories, struggles, and triumphs of US. Through art, we breathe life into these histories, transforming them into visual narratives that evoke emotion and spark change.
