CHCH's 70th anniversary brought a wave of nostalgia. Looking back at my year there, I created a montage of cherished memories. Time flies when you're having fun, and that year certainly flew by!

When I started working at CHCH, they were in a transition period. They had moved out of the Jackson Street office downtown Hamilton and were slowly moving into their new, much larger studio in Waterdown. They had been working out of temporary offices, and trailers!

My partner in crime, Josi and I, were hired as the Reception Administrators and were some of the only people who got to see the studio being built. We watched them install the tv monitors and bring in the classic red couch. We saw them testing out all the lighting and cameras, and there was a buzz of excitement in the air as everything came together.

Then it opened, the studio was complete and the staff started moving in! Everyone was incredibly kind and friendly, and as we met more of the anchors and team behind the scenes we realized just what a family this group of people seemed to be.

The genuine camaraderie between the anchors is evident on both the Morning and Evening shows and as I got to know the anchors I realized they were just as friendly off air as they are on-air. Their passion for local news keeps viewers engaged, including myself. It's clear they care deeply about their community.

The unsung heroes, Tansy, Laura, Chantelle, Sue, Alex, Ava, Katie, and Carly, power the show's success. Watching their dedication inspired me. These behind-the-scenes forces make it all happen.

And then there were the guests! I met artists, chefs, musicians, actors, authors and more. I met local business owners and local legends! It was my job to make them feel at home, and I enjoyed every minute. I got to be a part of the grand opening newscast, and Bob's retirement party. I got to be part of the live studio audience during their very first NYE broadcast and sit on the classic red couch when they needed an extra body to line up camera shots. I made life long friends and connections I won't soon forget.

Lastly I want to give a big shoutout...(In comments)
