Wonderful opening night at @amctheatres Lincoln Square in NYC. Packed house. People from TX, NC, VA, Boston, Maryland, all came up for the show. My students from Brooklyn College came out. The one and only Glenn Kenny hosting the best conversation and solving a literary riddle in Gunfighter - something no one has figured out before. And most importantly a group of the best friends, family, and collaborators a guy could ask for all in one spot. A magical time I’ll never forget. My sincerest thanks to everyone who showed up.

Happy to announce that as of yesterday F11 and Be There is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video!

It's a full two years past when we expected to be on Amazon, but as my father always says, “If you can’t get here on time, just drag on in when you can…”

Some background: In 2020, right after our theatrical run and as F11 started streaming on PBS, Apple TV, Kanopy, and many other streaming services, Amazon threw a major contractual wrench into the gears of the independent documentary distribution world. Happy to say that very recently Amazon completely removed that wrench.

We’re proud to finally be on a platform that is so accessible to so many people across spacetime.

I’d like to give a special shout out to our guy, Burk Uzzle @burkuzzle, for being such a Mensch. It's been a lot of years since we trekked across the US together, and he's still making me laugh and think deeply on a weekly basis. Go check out his newest work.

Finally, 2 years later, tracked down some physical copies of the @nytimes review of my film @f11andbethere. There is something really special about a physical newspaper, about a physical picture, seeing physical type in print. Hell, there is something really special about the world outside of screens in general. And while pixels are nice and convenient, holding a physical paper of your first nationally pushed film review (also a critics’ pick!) is something else entirely. Reading this review for the first time…I have no words to accurate describe the feeling — A sublime gratitude for a life in love with the movies— is about as close as I can get. #f11andbethere #nytimes

Burk finally got to see, in person, the Emmy we won for @f11andbethere today. What a proud moment for me to see his glowing face. We are giving a talk together at the Cameron Art Museum next month after a screening of the film. All my Wilmington NC folks, love to see y’all there.

Just won an Emmy! F11 and Be There took home the Emmy for Documentary in the Cultural category at the Midsouth Emmy Awards 2021. This is me and my insanely amazing wife celebrating properly. Big love from us to everyone who supported this film. Since it was a virtual streaming ceremony, I suppose the statue will be fedexed? What a wild time we live in.

Very proud to have F11 and Be There streaming with Angelika Film Center @angelikafilmcenterny. As a New Yorker, this is an absolute honor for me. Angelika is one of the most incredible cinemas anywhere.
