Middle East & Africa | Best Lobby of 2024 🛎️

@siroonezaabeel is a dynamic concept hotel centred around a holistic active recovery. Designed by @lw.designgroup, the heart of the hotel spans two floors – level 30 encompasses the lobby and the gym, whilst level 31 offers a series of relaxation areas and treatment rooms – connected by a sculptural spiral staircase symbolising the need for both fitness and regeneration. Arrivals are met by Swiss artist Roman Bratschi’s organic forms, which morph and evolve as they traverse the two floors thanks to lenticular technology, embodying the hotel’s ethos of constant transformation. The spaces are characterised by light plaster walls, timber cladding and dark finishes, illuminated by clever LED lighting.

The panel saw “a strongly executed concept,” described as “engaging and energetic.” “This project sets a strong benchmark for future fitness-themed hotels.”

Designers scratched it, knocked on it, and still couldn’t believe it wasn’t real wood.

That was the reaction when Casey Carillo (LW Design @lw.designgroup) and Katherine Reyes (Kristina Zanic Consultants @kristinazanicconsultants) reviewed BerryAlloc’s High Pressure Flooring up close. Together with BerryAlloc’s @berryalloc Hisham Khairalla and Najib Baroudi, they uncovered how HPF balances realism with durability for high-spec projects.

As Hisham Khairalla explained: “We digitally photograph natural wood and replicate it on the décor layer. Combined with a transparent corundum overlay—the second hardest mineral after diamond—you get a floor that looks and feels like timber but outperforms it.”

Want to know how it fared under real-world tests?
👉 See how BerryAlloc’s High Pressure Floors stood up to the test on Love That Design.

Edition, Downtown Dubai – by LW Design Group.

An ode to quiet luxury in the heart of Downtown Dubai, the Edition redefines contemporary hospitality with a refined, minimalist palette and a sculptural material language.

Anchored by travertine, warm timber, and brushed bronze, the interiors strike a deliberate balance between organic texture and urban sophistication. Statement lighting and custom furnishings echo the architecture’s rhythmic geometry, while subtle nods to local culture ground the space in a sense of place without pastiche.

Each corner invites reflection, not distraction — a rare feat in a city defined by spectacle.

A Wellness Sanctuary at INDEX Saudi Arabia @indexsaudi ✨

At this year’s @indexsaudi, LW Design @lw.designgroup x Kohler Middle East @kohlermiddleeast reimagined the idea of wellness. Inspired by resort living and calming soundscapes, the space felt like a sensory retreat.

The installation moved beyond the idea of a booth, offering visitors a sanctuary within the energy of INDEX Saudi. By pairing desert-inspired light and tactile finishes with Kohler’s immersive technologies, @shereenhassanein_ , @cinnamonkanee , and @ksharkx showed how design can ground us transforming daily rituals into moments of renewal.
