The Portsmouth Suffolk (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. hosted their first youth conference at St Mark’s Baptist Church.

The focus on the conference was to bring young men together for mentorship, leadership, education, and personal growth. 👌🏾♦️

We partnered with Tony and Vernicia Green and Roger Lee in finance, Dr. Nina Jordan and DJ Jordan in mental health, and Dr. Xavier Belcher in conflict resolution to equip our youth with essential life skills, with the distinguished support of the Honorable Mayor Shannon Glover helping make this impactful initiative possible.

What topics would you like to see at our next youth leadership conference? Let us know in the comments below

As we close out of first AAU season, we simply want to say THANK YOU AAU 🔵🟠

This season tested us in more ways than people will ever know. We faced obstacles, adversity, long nights, financial challenges, roster changes, injuries, and moments where giving up would’ve been the easy choice. But through it all, Stand Behind Family Athletics never stopped believing. We kept pushing, kept growing, and kept standing together.

To every parent, thank you for trusting us with your children, sacrificing your time, traveling countless miles, and believing in our mission. Your support is the foundation of everything we’ve built.

To every player, thank you for your commitment, hard work, and resilience. You represented SBF with heart, competed with pride, and continued to improve every time you stepped on the court. Championships are special, but the growth, relationships, and life lessons will last forever.

To every coach, mentor, volunteer, board member, and staff member, thank you for believing in this vision from the very beginning. Your dedication, patience, leadership, and countless hours behind the scenes made this season possible. This organization is built because people chose to serve something bigger than themselves.

SBF IS HERE TO STAY 💯

THANK YOU! 🙏🏾🏀

I want to personally thank every player and staff member who showed up today and made our SBF Athletics tryouts a success.

To the players thank you for bringing energy, effort, and great attitudes. You competed the right way, supported one another, and represented what SBF Basketball is all about: growth, toughness, and character. I’m proud of the way y’all showed up ready to work.

To our coaching staff and volunteers…thank you for investing your time, leadership, and knowledge into these young men. Your presence helped create a structured, competitive, and positive environment.

Most importantly, we had a healthy, safe, and competitive tryout. That speaks to the culture we’re building.

This is bigger than basketball. This is development. This is family. This is SBF. 💙
