THIS GIRL 👆🏻 had one hell of a year… and a pretty fabulous birthday to go with it! ❤️

I’m a little late getting around to saying thank you to everyone who called, texted, posted, celebrated, loved on me, and made my birthday feel so special. (Then again, as you all know, punctuality has never been my strong point 😂)

This past year was definitely a work hard/play hard kind of year. Lots of time poured into my business and lots of time with family and friends. (and me reminding myself that I still need to work on that whole work/life balance thing)

From general hijinks with the tiny human, a new-to-us dog (Flint), times spent with an amazing group of fellow book-clubbers and friends, our dream trip to Greece, Croatia and Italy with @explorajourneys (10/10 recommend), Arkansas with the Smith family squad (never a dull moment), further investing in the biz with #XERF (take your kid to a medical aesthetics event, it’s fun), a successful work event and then rounding out my birthday with three days of celebration with family and dear friends. Whew! What a ride and thank you all who are here and in my heart.

I am excited for this next year with more travel (NY, Alaska and Seattle x2) and working on that work/life balance still, lol. Thank you so much for thinking of me on my birthday last week-ish and a few days beyond. Blessed indeed!

These girls might have broken the Surf Asylum record for most party waves ridden in a week!

A few of these girls have come to EIGHT years of surf camp! We always have the best time with them and the new friends bring along each year!

Happy International Women’s Day!

Starting with my amazing grandmothers, Nana and Nonnie, to the woman who raised me, my sister who was raised alongside me, my incredible sister- in-law, my late, fabulous mother-in-law, and given I have lived in three states over my life so far, all the women I have had the pleasure to become friends with at various times and stages in my life, I treasure you all. And of course, the not quite a woman yet (but with the sass and strength of one), my Tiny Human, Frankie.

In an era that seems to be continually working against women on every level, I cannot help but be thankful to be related to, know and love so many lovely ladies. Not only do I gain strength and calm from these relationships, they also show the Tiny Human how important friendships can be over time and in the moment. Truly a gift.

In putting these photos together I realize how much joy has come from those all of you, and it was hard to catch everyone so apologies if I didn’t catch you here! (It could also simply be I didn’t have a pic we’d agree we both look good in 😂)

What a beautiful evening celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Amelia Island Book Festival 📚✨

I was truly honored to cater the Welcome Reception for the attending authors at @bookloftamelia surrounded by an Enchanted Forest of Books.

A heartfelt thank you to Agnes Lyden, Kristi Arndt, and Jackie Eiras for trusting Luxe Picnics by Les with such a special annual event.
And Jackie… the paper flowers and moss-covered books you created were absolutely stunning. They brought the enchanted vision to life and added the most magical flare to our grazing tables. Truly beautiful work. 🌿✨

Amelia Island Book Festival! @ameliaislandbookfestival

Had a great time at the incredibly organized Amelia Island Book Festival this past Saturday! I sold more books than I thought I would, but the best part was the people!

The fair goers were all so nice! A few of the students I presented to the day before showed up asking me to sign their books because there wasn’t enough time to sign when I was at school, and bought more books! My school volunteer, Elizabeth Walker, came by to visit and bought the book I presented (my CNY one). I got to meet the amazing Agnes Lyden @lydenagnes who runs this festival and the author event. I also made a new author friend, @bethanygano - go check out her adorable beaver book!

But what I loved most was being able to do this with my pals, @everybodylovesbakon, @cazzycreates, and @authormikecrowder. You guys made this weekend so special and I’m sad it’s over already.

Extra big hug and thanks to the best host in the world, @everybodylovesbakon. Love you, Janine! Miss you already!

Ah, 2025…you were (overall) a great year!!!

I think “kid, canines, camaraderie and Cabo” best summed up 2025. As you’ll see in the pics, the Tiny Human, Rich and I spent a lot of time with our treasured canine, Bo who, at 15 we treasure! Our kid (obviously) is the biggest part of our life while I strived to find camaraderie both personally with new and longtime friendships and professionally through my local women’s group. And I had a magical trip to Cabo for a much needed reset.

All this, along with changes both personally and professionally left me feeling happy overall as the year wrapped. For the first time in awhile I haven’t wanted to kick a year to a curb by its end-i consider that a win! So thank you to everyone (pictured or not) who helped make that happen. 🤍

Sadly, 2025 also brought loss. A longtime Seattle friend suddenly moved on from this world. We’d lost touch for a while but had joyfully reconnected in 2020. This is my first close friend to pass and all I can say is treasure those who can make you belly laugh, share your deepest darks and highest highs, and boost you to be the best you. And don’t let time go by without telling them how much they mean to you. Get uncomfortable if you need to-it may be the boost they need. 💔

And while I can’t help but feel our country is starting to “circle the drain” lately, I feel hopeful that (good) change will come soon. In the meantime I’m here to share snarky memes and vent anytime. 🙏

Love to all on the changing of this lightning fast, fabulous year and onto an even better one.
