Having a little throw back moment to Umbrella Objective from 2012!

On a glorious sunny Gibson Street Gala day, myself and the kids of Hyndland After School Club paraded through the street with a glorious gallery of canvasas. These umbrellas were all painted by invited artists to be included in the Gibson Street Gala for three years and then the Solas Festival too.

I’m so grateful for all the artists that made such amazing works. I was so motivated and excited to be part of something that connected the artists to the community in such a fun way.

The artworks that were created took so much time and effort and there was absolutely no money for all of the hard work and talent shown. I’m so grateful.

I’ll put all the photos of the individual umbrellas up too in another post, the range and quality of artworks are something to see!

Many thanks to @erikascamera for these photographs , they capture the event so perfectly, so glad we documented it!

My fav tree decorations to support #smallbusinesssaturday

Every year I get such joy putting up the decorations I’ve collected on my travels and hoarded over the years… a great many of which are from excellent small businesses (most of whom have websites!)

Scroll through for my favourites and where I got them from - no guarantees they will still have the same ones as some are years old, but they are all fab places to browse, support small businesses and get something special for your tree this year🌲

@revelalan you may notice the bird theme (I have yet to find a kingfisher one but maybe you have one!)

How will you be celebrating the jubilee? 👑

The Queen has been on the throne for 70 years which calls for a celebration like no other — whether you'll be joining your neighbours for a glorious street party 🇬🇧 or hosting an afternoon tea 🍰, there are so many fun ways to get involved!

@HollyTucker has shared how she will be making this Platinum Jubliee weekend fit for a queen! Who can think of a better way to celebrate than with cheerful corgi egg cups by @Katch_Skinner to get your breakfast off to a cracking start 🥚 or a Jammie Biscuit scone baking kit by The Baker's Box 👩‍🍳 so you can make your own tea party treats?
