Still need to record your prescreens? Lucky for you, our fashion guide is here!

So what should you actually wear for your college prescreens and auditions?

Short answer: something that feels like you!

Look presentable, like you would want to for a first date with someone you really like. The goal is to wear something you feel confident and comfortable moving in, that looks good on camera, and that lets the people watching focus on your work rather than your clothes.

In this guide, we're breaking down some of the most common audition-outfit questions - with real examples from students who went on to attend BFA/BA Acting and Musical Theatre programs across the country.

Save this one for audition and prescreen season 💜

Pro tip: end your special skills section with a “conversation piece”. Anything from moving your ears to doing an Elmo impression. Maybe you can name all the Presidents backwards? Or do a back flip? Whatever it is, you just have to be able to do it in the audition room.

A fun special skills can be a great way for both you and a school to get a sense of one another’s personalities. Do you each think this could be a good situation for the next four years?

It’s just like dating. Is this someone I want to spend more time with and will I feel like it will be a fulfilling experience?

If you feel stuck, ask friends and family what you do that they find interesting. You surely have plenty of talents, it’s just sometimes hard to think outside of performing :)
