Your circumstances are not evidence of your abandonment!

You may feel alone… but you have not been left alone. And even when you feel undeserving… consider His grace!

God’s presence isn’t earned… It’s given.

Send this to someone who needs it today!

GOD IS HERE 🙌

Jacob was literally sleeping on a rock. Running from his brother. Alone in the middle of nowhere.

And God showed up anyway. 🙌

Nothing about his situation said “God is here.” But He was. Jacob just didn’t know it yet.

Here’s what I needed to hear this week: God’s presence isn’t tied to your circumstances. It’s tied to His promises. And He doesn’t break covenant.

So if you’re in a wilderness season right now, this one’s for you. Your circumstances are NOT evidence of abandonment. He’s closer than you think.

Wake up to His presence. Then live like He’s actually here. 👏

The Bible needs to take on flesh and bone when we read it. Consider, when Paul writes the words “dear Timothy, my dear son in the faith”.

Paul who has no children and wasn’t married, found a son. Timothy who did not have a father in his life, found a father. Image the emotion of Paul writing that letter and Timothy reading those words longing for a father. The local church is where God replaces what was stolen or never given.

I was raised with all sisters and no brothers. I always wanted brothers.

I found brothers because of the local church.

@lgcyconf '26 was @legacynashville's inauguration into a new decade of ministry that will know no bounds -- it will be marked by unity and freedom in the spirit, and advancement of the Kingdom of God in the earth.

A WAVE IS ON THE WAVE. 🌊

I am humbled to be a part of this. With fear and trembling I take my post and diligently seek the will of the father, understanding that none of what will be accomplished in the next year will be none by might or power but only by the spirit of the living God!

There are moments that are markers. Being in Nashville for Legacy Conference is something I’ll never forget.

“In six months you’re gonna be dead or in prison unless you come home to me right now.”

Lyle Phillips was 21 and selling cocaine out of a Bowling Green apartment when his childhood friend got arrested on the way back to his place with two kilos and 250 pounds of weed. That night, alone and not even high, he watched someone walk past his second-floor window. Nobody was there. He says Jesus walked into that room and gave him six months.

Before that: cocaine in high school, heroin and meth at 18, a dog room in a crack house, the backseat of a 1987 Caprice, drive-bys, a best friend shot dead in the street, 17 days of withdrawal in solitary and a court-ordered rehab inside a mental hospital.

After that: nine months of sermons on the couch with his dad, $100 a week washing a pastor’s car in Texas, a year and a half in Mozambique, five years in India buying kids out of slavery, and a church in East Nashville that started with 12 people in a free building and now has 1,200 every Sunday.

We talk about his first sermons (he plagiarized them), what a church actually costs to run, who can fire a pastor, Joel Osteen and the prosperity gospel, and why I keep showing up to church feeling like a fraud.

Heroin in one arm, meth in the other, at 18.

He sold cocaine in his Kentucky high school, slept in a dog room at a crack house and got shot at in drive-bys. At 19 his best friend was killed in the street over a crack deal. At 21 his buddy got pinched with two kilos and 250 pounds of weed on the way to his apartment, right after they counted $125,000 on the kitchen table.

Today he is Pastor Lyle Phillips, and 1,200 people show up to his church in Nashville every Sunday.

New episode tomorrow with @lylebphillips.
