And just like that… 🎓💛

What once felt like one of the hardest decisions of my life—changing my mind about the career I thought I wanted—has become one of my greatest accomplishments.

I don’t think I could have ever imagined how much nursing would change my life. It has brought so much light into my life, challenged me in ways I never expected, and brought some of the most amazing people into it. Somewhere along the way, the people I met in nursing school became so much more than classmates—they became lifelong friends, and I’ll forever cherish the memories, laughs, tears, and everything we went through together. 🥹🤍

I’m especially grateful for my family, who supported me through every step of this journey and believed in me even when I doubted myself. I truly wouldn’t be here without the people who loved me, encouraged me, and reminded me to keep going.

This chapter has been one of the hardest, most rewarding, and most life-changing experiences I’ve ever had. I’m leaving it with a full heart and so much gratitude for every person who played a part in getting me here.

Next stop: NCLEX… then Ohio! ❤️‍🩹
I’m beyond excited to share that I’ve accepted an RN position at Cleveland Clinic.

Here’s to the people who made this chapter so special, the dreams that brought me here, and the new beginnings waiting for me. ✨

20 out-of-context clips to look back on FIVE years at SUU!

I’m so thankful to be a woman in sports and to be living out my dream and many prayers. It’s very surreal to be celebrating this milestone 🥹

Thank YOU to everyone who has supported me along the way! There are countless friends, family members, coworkers, GAs, interns, coaches and student-athletes who have rooted for me and helped shape the person I am today.

Special thanks to:

@rachadamsonn , for encouraging me to work for the Northwest Missourian newspaper, hiring me and making it possible for me to discover my dreams 💫

My radiant mother, @jillgrusch , for loving me unconditionally and encouraging me to chase those dreams. You believed in me before I took my first breath and as I was still learning to believe in myself. You have always been the greatest gift I’ve been given and I would not be here without you.

@colin.mcdonough , for seeing my value, inviting me into the world of collegiate athletics, and giving me the absolute honor to cover all of @bearcatsports including a national championship run 💚

@kcsmurthwaite for opening THE door for me post-grad, taking a chance on me, and continuing to believe and encourage me from near and far.

@tylerjamesjaros , for being the best first boss I could have asked for and for so intentionally sitting down with me on my first day to show me the ropes of SUU and social media. Each day I got to work with and learn from you was a gift.

@maddi.gerhardt , for meeting me in every high and low and being my rock in Cedar City. You are everything I needed here and more and I couldn’t have asked for a better support system.

Thank you to all of the incredible mentors and bosses I’ve had along the way; Shon, @autumnaiono , Jeff, Naki, and Regan.

I hope to grow into a leader (and person) that resembles each of you 🫶

Between FINALLY returning to the Big Sky Conference and our new leader in Myndee Kay, the future feels incredibly bright and I couldn’t be more excited for the year ahead and all I get to create 🤲

Go T-Birds forever ❤️‍🔥

Everyone talks about the grind… but not everyone talks about when it doesn’t go your way.

Lyle Santos did everything right. Put in the work. Stayed ready. Earned the looks. But when draft day came… his name wasn’t called.

That’s the part of the journey people don’t see.

Sometimes you can control everything—and it still doesn’t go how you planned. That’s life. That’s the game.

It’s about how you respond. Taking the ups with the downs, staying locked in, and keeping it moving no matter what.

Because one moment doesn’t define the whole story.

Hometown dreams hit different 💯

Lyle Santos got the call to the Raiders mini camp… his home team, his moment. Everything was clicking, feeling like you’re at the top of your game.

But sometimes… you can’t control the uncontrollable.

The call comes… and just like that—cut.

That feeling? It hits. Hard. Like everything was going right, then suddenly it’s not. But that’s the reality of the journey… it’s not always up.

It’s about how you respond when it goes the other way.

This is just part of the story.

Everybody’s path is different… and for Lyle Santos, that journey is proof 💯

In a game where linemen don’t always get the spotlight—but play one of the toughest positions on the field—he kept pushing. No NFL Draft call, but an opportunity came with the Las Vegas Raiders rookie mini camp. Then came the setback… cut.

But that wasn’t the end.

A second shot came through the United Football League… and this time, his name got called. Drafted. Earned. Deserved.

The journey wasn’t easy—but the hunger never changed. Still grateful. Still grinding. Still chasing greatness. 🚀
